Two men wanted in Rowan Co. home invasion, death of resident’s dog

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are searching for two men who have been identified as suspects in a Rowan County home invasion.
During the May 24 home invasion, the residents’ dog “Sasha” was shot and killed.
Deputies responded to the home on Mendenhall Road where three victims said several suspects came to their door and forced their way into the home with guns.
They ransacked the home and stole several items, including a TV.
Several shots were fired by the suspects. The victim’s dog Sasha died that night of a gunshot wound.
No one else was injured.
After an investigation, two suspects were identified as Jalen Lamont Cook, 20, of West Fisher Street, Salisbury and Gabriel Jamar Brown, 23, of West Bank Street, Salisbury.
Warrants were obtained for both suspects for felony first degree burglary, felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and felony cruelty to animals.
