2 more nabbed in Mann's heist

(February 26, 2004) --BRIGHTON --Brighton Police have charged two more men in connection with November's $618,000 smash-and-grab heist at Mann's Jewelers on Monroe Avenue.

Michael Shaheed, 16, and James C. Turner Jr., 17, both of Cleveland, were charged with first-degree robbery last week. The charge carries a possible five-to-25-year sentence.

Shaheed is due in Brighton Town Court on Monday. Turner's case was sent to the gra
d jury on Wednesday, according to court records.

At least four men made off with $618,000 in Cartier and Rolex watches from the jewelry store in the Nov. 2 robbery. The robbers were in and out
r
of t
he store in 59 seconds.

The Mann's robbery i
s similar to jewelry store robberies in Cincinnati on March 10; Toledo, Ohio, on April 28; and Highland, Ind. on July 18.

The other suspects --Cleveland D. Howard, 34, of Cleveland, Danny R. Garlington, 39, of Attalla, Ala., and James M. Anderson, 34, of Cleveland --were charged with first-degree robbery in December and in January.
