A shooting occurred outside of a Popeyes restaurant in Philadelphia.

SHOOTOUT AT POPEYES. Authorities reported a shooting outside a Popeyes restaurant north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The incident left one employee dead and two others injured. Almost 50 shots were fired!
The Philadelphia Police Department reported that on the night of Monday, August 8 a teenager was killed and two others were injured after 46 shots were fired at the car they had gotten into after finishing their shifts the Popeyes restaurant
The shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. local time, just minutes after the Popeyes on the 400 block of Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia closed. According to authorities, the three teens were sitting in a Honda parked in the restaurant’s parking lot.
At that moment, three armed suspects approached the vehicle and shot 47 times into the parked car. The police indicated that they are currently searching for the suspects who fled the crime scene on foot, according to local outlet ABC 6.
Authorities said the victims were Popeyes employees. “Three teenage employees of @Popeyes at 4th Street and Lehigh Ave shot inside car just moments after all left work when Popeyes closed at 11 pm @phillypolice told FOX29 News,” Steve Keley, a reporter for FOX 29, tweeted.
After being shot, the driver was able to drive a few blocks to North Fairhill Street. At that point, the paramedics found the victims and offered them the necessary medical attention. Unfortunately one of them was already dead.

Police said they first found the three victims of the shooting aboard a Honda Civic that had been riddled with bullets and then found the spot where they had been shot five blocks away, Steve Keley reported on social media.

Local authorities have not revealed the identity of the victims but they did confirm that they found nearly 50 shell casings scattered between the parking lot and the street in front of the Popeyes where the shooting occurred. The investigation is open and they are still on the trail of the suspects
