A Southern Democrat pressed his Fire-the-Liar campaign in Los Angeles, predicting that George W. Bush would fare far worse in the South than he did in 2000. Although Richard Barrett predicted a Bush loss nationwide on November 2, 2004, due to "reckless policies abroad and ruinous policies at home," he credited the incumbent's defeat to a massive defection of right-wing support.
