Police searching for man connected with sexual assault and robberies

BOSTON —Police released surveillance video to aid in the search for a man connected with a sexual assault and four armed robberies in Dorchester.
The robberies happened around 10pm on Sept. 27 in the area of Ditson and Leroy Streets and 33 Ridgewood Street.
Victims of the robberies told police they were approached by a black man, between 5’ 10” - 6’ 2”, with braided hair, who demanded money and threatened to stab them.
Police are looking into similarities between the man in the video and a person of interest in a sexual assault that happened the same night. Shortly after 11 p.m., police responded to a call for a sexual assault on Dorchester Avenue and Harbor View Street.
A woman told police a black man in his 20s with a medium build robbed her at knife point and then sexually assaulted her. He fled on foot towards Sydney Street. Police believe the man operates a dark colored SUV that was captured on video.
