Area police continue to search for a man who they believe killed his two teenage daughters and left their bodies in a taxi at an Irving hotel.

Police sealed off a street and surrounded the man's home in Lewisville for more than five hours Wednesday but found that Yaser Abdel Said, 50, a cabdriver, was not inside.

He is being sought in connection with the deaths of Amina Yaser Said, 18, and Sarah Yaser Said, 17.

Both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds, the Dallas County medical examiner's office ruled Wednesday.

About 20 SWAT team members from the Lewisville Police Department and the Denton County Sheriff's Office sealed off the 1000 block of Lakeland Drive and surrounded the modest, one-story home of the Said family for about five hours beginning about 11 a.m.

Police provided no clues about the motive for the killings. "There are several things we're looking into," said Irving police Officer David Tull, noting that the suspect faces capital murder charges.

Officer Tull said there have been some "domestic issues" with the family, but he did not elaborate.

Police did say they are looking into the possibility that the father was upset with his daughters' dating activities.
Gee ya think? Who says cops are stupid? Can't just come right out and say it's an Islamic honor killing you dopes? No, that would upset the poor downtrodden peaceful muslims.

"It's something well worth looking into," Officer Tull told WFAA-TV (Channel 8).

Officer Tull said at a news conference that the mother of the victims is cooperating with police and that she and her 19-year-old son are in a safe place. He believes the couple is married, but he didn't know whether they had been living together.
Mothers name is Patricia. How do you think Patty feels about her choice of mates right about now?

Lewisville police responded to a call at the residence on Dec. 26 on a report of a missing person, Capt. Kevin Deaver said. He did not know who was reported missing or what action was taken to resolve the situation.

Mr. Said, who is from Egypt, has lived in the Dallas area since at least the mid-1980s, records indicate.

Officer Tull said police have received no tips about Mr. Said's whereabouts but said numerous law enforcement agencies are involved in the search. "There's a long investigation ahead of us," he said.

It's unclear which of the sisters called 911 from a cellphone around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. She said she was dying, according to an Irving police report. She did not provide her location, but police traced the call to O'Connor Road and Riverside Drive.

They couldn't find the caller but an hour later, police received another call about two unconscious females inside a taxi at a service entrance of the Omni Mandalay Hotel. Police located the vehicle and found the sisters.

"The victims' mother provided information that pointed to the victims' father as the suspect," the Irving police report stated.

Friends describe Amina and Sarah as quiet but well-liked students at Lewisville High School. They played tennis and soccer and were enrolled in many Advanced Placement classes.

"They were extremely smart – like geniuses," said Allison Villarreal, a senior at Lewisville High, where Amina was a senior and Sarah was a junior.
Hmmm, where did they get the brains from? Obviously neither parent has any.

Liz Marines, secretary of the Lewisville High School Student Council, had classes with both of the sisters and also remembers their scholastic abilities.

"Amina was very nice with everybody. She helped me in [Advanced Placement English] class," she said. Sarah was a sophomore when she took an Algebra II class with Liz, who was a junior at the time.

She said the sisters, who wore typical American clothes, didn't talk much about their family. "I didn't know they were Muslims until she told me they were Egyptian and Muslim," Liz said.

She said the Student Council is organizing a prayer vigil at 6 tonight at Lewisville High. Students are being asked to wear pink to school today to honor their friends.

"It's because pink was their favorite color," Liz said.

DALLAS — A man on the run from police since his teenage daughters were found shot to death in a taxicab on New Year's Day had threatened to hurt one of the girls for dating a non-Muslim boy, according to police documents.

Authorities deflected questions Wednesday about whether the sisters, who had both a Christian and Muslim memorial service, might have been victims of an "honor killing."

"There's a lot of speculation out there right now," Irving police spokesman Richard Gilmette said. "We have no solid information."

Amina Said, 18, and her sister Sarah, 17, were found shot multiple times in a cab outside a suburban Dallas hotel. Police found them after one of the girls called 911 from a cell phone and said she was dying. A capital murder warrant has been issued for Yaser Said, 50, who has not been seen since the Lewisville High School students were found dead.

Gail Gattrell, the sisters' great-aunt, has called the deaths an "honor killing," in which a woman is murdered by a relative to protect her family's honor.

According to a police report released Tuesday, a family member told investigators that Yaser Said threatened "bodily harm" against Sarah for going on a date with a non-Muslim.

Amina and Sarah Said The police documents, first obtained by Dallas television station KXAS, also show that Patricia Said fled with her daughters in the week before the girls were killed because she was in "great fear for her life."

She asked police if she needed to do anything to prevent her husband from getting information about the girls when they enrolled in a different school, according to the documents.

Gilmette said police had no information on the father's whereabouts. The department on Wednesday taped a segment for "America's Most Wanted" in hopes of finding him, Gilmette said.

Three months later, slain sisters' killer still at large

IRVING — Friends and family members are praying for more clues to help catch the man thought to have murdered his two daughters on New Year's Day.

With the girls' killer still at large, family members held a memorial Saturday to remember the two young lives silenced.

It was a small ceremony at Birds Fort Trail Park in Irving, where prayers were offered for Sarah and Amina Said — and for the capture of their father.

"We're never bringing them back, but at least getting him caught will get some justice," said Joyce Boucher, the dead girls' great aunt.

The manhunt continues for Yaser Said, the taxi driver who is suspected of shooting his two teenage daughters on Jan. 1 and then leaving them to die inside his cab parked outside a Las Colinas hotel.

Yaser Said has been missing since his daughters were killed. Family members said the Egyptian native didn't approve of the girls' boyfriends.

"These girls had some hard times, but when you speak to their friends ... what you'll find are two children who smiled — always smiled," said Gail Gartrell, the girls' great aunt.

Sarah, 17, and Amina, 18, were top of their class at Lewisville High School. Both would have celebrated a birthday this month.

To mark the date, family members released doves and balloons Saturday — symbols of two lives that should never have been snuffed out.

Since the murder three months ago, the girls' father has not been seen. Family members are hoping someone will come forward to help bring him to justice.

Relatives of the girls' mother have said Mr. Said was prone to violence and had been angry because he felt Western culture was corrupting the chastity of his daughters. The two girls also had accused their father of sexual abuse in the late 1990s, but the charges were dismissed after the girls recanted.
Mr. Said, 51, often espoused his own brand of traditional Middle Eastern values, prompting speculation the murders were honor killings, an ancient Arab tribal custom in which the man of the family kills women he believes have shamed the family.

Mrs. Said has angrily rejected the idea that her husband's religion or culture had anything to do with the murders. Dang, how stupid is this dumbazz?
Friends and relatives have said that Mr. Said become irate in December because he had found out that his daughters were dating and had threatened to harm them.

On Christmas Day, Mrs. Said, her daughters and their boyfriends fled the state. They stopped at a relative's house in Kansas and then rented an apartment under an assumed name in Tulsa, Okla.

But Mrs. Said and her daughters returned to Lewisville on New Year's Eve. Amina refused to return to the family's home that night and stayed at the home of her boyfriend, family members said.

Mrs. Moggio said her niece called her and told her that their mother had said they were returning briefly to the Dallas area to put flowers on their grandmother's grave.

Mrs. Moggio said Amina swore she would never go near her father again.

"She said, 'Did you know my mom went back with my dad?' " Mrs. Moggio said. "I said I knew nothing about it. She said, 'Do you know what I can do to protect myself?' I said, 'Go down and file a restraining order and get away from him as fast as you can.' "

She said it was her final conversation with Amina.

"What prompted her to go back home is beyond me," Mrs. Moggio said. "I'm sure she was convinced by somebody." HMMMmmm..... somebody named ..... Patricia?

A Texas father who once landed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list is headed to trial in the alleged “honor killings” of his two daughters more than a decade ago.
Yaser Said is accused of shooting dead his daughters, Sarah, 17, and Amina, 18, in 2008 because he was upset they were dating, family and friends have said.
Jury selection in the case began Monday in Dallas and jurors are expected to hear harrowing testimony, including from Sarah’s 911 call just before she died.
“My father shot me. I’m dying … I’m dying,” she told the dispatcher after being shot nine times, reported WFAA.
Friends and family said Said was unhappy that his teenage daughters were dating. Family members believe the girls were victims of “honor killings” because their father thought they had brought shame to the family, reported the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
“He followed them everywhere he went and recorded their every move,” family friend Ruth Trotter told WFAA.

Investigators allege Said took his daughters for a ride in a cab he had borrowed on New Year’s Day under the guise that they were going to get dinner. Instead, he drove them to a hotel near Irving, Texas and allegedly shot both of them inside his taxi.
Police eventually found the sisters’ bodies inside the cab near the Omni Hotel in Irving. Amina was shot twice.
Said has denied killing his daughters.

After the alleged slayings, Said went on the run and landed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list — with authorities initially believing he might have fled to Egypt or New York City.
But 12 years later, he was found hiding in Justin, Texas — about 40 miles away from where the killings happened.
Said’s son and brother were convicted of helping him hide, reported the Star Telegram.
Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty for Said, however, he will automatically serve life in prison without parole of he’s convicted.
