BLM Coalition Demanding Abolition of Police Previously Received $33 Million From Open Society Foundations​

In 2016, organizations in the Black Lives Matter movement received $33 million in grants from the Open Society Foundations, founded by Hungarian hedge fund manager George Soros in 1993, and the Center for American Progress, founded by former White House chief of staff and Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta in 2003.

The Washington Times reported that, in 2016, the Black Lives Matter coalition raised over $100 million from a series of wealthy liberal foundations including The Ford Foundation, in addition to $33 million in grants from the Open Society Foundations, with additional grant-making from the Center for American Progress.

PolitiFact notes that Open Society Foundations previously condemned violence, and claims that Open Society Foundations reiterated this regarding the recent unrest in emails.

Nevertheless, civil unrest continues to spread in the United States, with demonstrations ranging from peaceful protests to riots following the death of George Floyd in police custody, despite the officers involved having been fired and arrested.

Black Lives Matter, as an idea, has become one of the most recognizable displays in support of those participating in the unrest, with corporate brands and cities adopting the #BlackLivesMatter hash tag on social media, and using it to rename streets across the country.

However, the largest Black Lives Matter coalition, the Movement for Black Lives, which Black Lives Matter co-founder Ariel Garza says she does “a lot of work with” and has been credited as “co-founder” of, was a recipient of the fundraising storm in 2016.

The Movement for Black Lives remains active into 2020. The coalition is currently offering advice to protesters, and calling for an abolition of police.

In a document titled “Infiltration and Disinfo,” available on their website, protesters are warned of potential sabotage from “bad actors” that may include members of law enforcement attempting to discredit the protests:

Ongoing protests nationwide highlight the need for vigilance against infiltration by both law enforcement and private bad actors.

Local and federal law enforcement agencies use informants and undercover agents to gather information covertly about movements, organizers, activists, and communities. Gathered information can potentially be used in criminal proceedings and can even include details of actions taken by individuals after being lured or pressured into criminal activity by those very same agents or informants.

The document goes on to inform readers that one should never feel obligated to become a federal agent, and offers advice on how to spot and eliminate “bad actors.”

On their website’s About page, the Movement for Black Lives claims to be an “abolitionist” movement, aimed at abolishing police as well as prisons:

We believe that prisons, police and all other institutions that inflict violence on Black people must be abolished and replaced by institutions that value and affirm the flourishing of Black lives.

“We believe in centering the experiences and leadership of the most marginalized Black people, including but not limited to those who are trans and queer, women and femmes, currently and formerly incarcerated, immigrants, disabled, working class, and poor.”

They also suggest a radical transformation of law enforcement similar to the trending idea of defunding and abolishing police:

“We demand a world where those most impacted in our communities control the laws, institutions, and policies that are meant to serve us – from our schools to our local budgets, economies, police departments, and our land – while recognizing that the rights and histories of our Indigenous family must also be respected. This includes:

1. Direct democratic community control of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, ensuring that communities most harmed by destructive policing have the power to hire and fire officers, determine disciplinary action, control budgets and policies, and subpoena relevant agency information.”

In a policy position titled “End the War on Black People,” the group endorses a series of societal transformations that would likely reshape modern policing:

“We demand an end to the war against Black people. Since this country’s inception there have been named and unnamed wars on our communities. We demand an end to the criminalization, incarceration, and killing of our people. This includes:

1. An immediate end to the criminalization and dehumanization of Black youth across all areas of society including, but not limited to; our nation’s justice and education systems, social service agencies, and media and pop culture. This includes an end to zero-tolerance school policies and arrests of students, the removal of police from schools, and the reallocation of funds from police and punitive school discipline practices to restorative services.”

The remaining 9 points in this policy position, or list of demands, call for the immediate abolition of capital punishment, bail, fines, court fees, use of criminal background to determine eligibility for virtually anything, deportation of illegal immigrants, militarized law enforcement, and private prisons.

In another policy position titled “Respect Protesters,” the organization seems to suggest looting as a form of protest:

“We demand that the rights of protestors be respected and protected and that there be no abuse of powers. We Demand:

1. Violations of property should never be equated with the violation of human life.”

The website also offers a petition urging readers to “Join us in calling on Congressional leadership to ensure that future action prioritize our communities over corporation [sic] and pushes back against the use of militarization in our communities as a response to this crisis.”

Neither the Open Society Foundations or the Center for American Progress have encouraged violent protests in response to the death of Floyd. There is also no clear evidence that either organization has funded the Black Lives Matter movement since 2016.

In a statement by the Open Society Foundations, the organization also explicitly condemned the idea that “people taking to the streets to express their anguish are paid.”


Center for American Progress issued a statement urging law enforcement to “de-escalate” during the protests following the death of Floyd.

The Washington Post credits the Movement for Black Lives for helping the Black Lives Matter movement become “mainstream,” while quoting an excerpt from an interview with Garza, here listed as the organization’s co-founder on NBC’s “Meet The Press.”

“Seven years ago, people thought that Black Lives Matter was a radical idea,” Alicia Garza, the co-founder of the Movement for Black Lives, told Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “And yet Black Lives Matter is now a household name and it’s something being discussed across kitchen tables all over the world.”

The Movement for Black Lives has received funding from many other groups and celebrities, including $1 million from the K-pop group BTS, as reported by The New York Times on Monday.

Los Angeles County’s “failed district attorney” George Gascón received bad news this past weekend when Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan announced that the recall effort against him had received over 700,000 signatures — well beyond the necessary 566,000 needed to force another vote.

Gascón comes from a long line of soft-on-crime Democratic prosecutors, funded by progressive liberal billionaire George Soros.
Like several other Soros-funded lawyers, the California attorney has allowed his jurisdiction to be ransacked by lawlessness the likes of which include: looting, riots, rampant homelessness, drug use, and brazen violent crime.
As a result, many of Gascón’s own colleagues are not supportive of his policies, according to The Washingon Examiner.

“After Boudin was recalled in San Francisco, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva called Gascon a ‘failed district attorney’ and also criticized him in a discussion with us at our Los Angeles symposium.” the article reads. “The Association of Deputy District Attorneys, the union representing the 1,000 attorneys who work for Gascon, has filed two lawsuits against him.”

Senator Rand Paul vowed this past weekend that a “day of reckoning” is coming for Democrats because Americans are sick and tried of spiralling crime and violence dominating their cities.

Appearing on Hannity, Paul spoke of the Democrats’ double standards on political violence in the wake of an attack on GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin last week during a campaign speech.


“The left wing is egging this on,” Paul urged, adding “and if we want to end this we have to start locking people up.”

Paul compared the media coverage of the attack on Zeldin to how the media covered Paul being violently attacked a few years ago, noting that the a Louisville Courier reported said “violence against me was justified.”

Paul went on to decry the rise of crime and violence, noting “There’s going to come a day of reckoning where the people who live in New York City – crime disproportionately affects those in poor neighborhoods and those who are minorities. One day they’re going to rise up and say, ‘We’ve had enough. The Democrats are not protecting our children.'”

Paul continued, “Kids are dying at the bus stop. Kids are dying on the subway. The Democrats don’t care about your kids. And it continues to happen decade after decade.”

“There’s going to be a day that people are going to wake up and say, ‘We’ve had enough. We’re going to vote for law and order.’ And Lee Zeldin is the law and order candidate,” Paul asserted.

“So I think there is a chance that people will say, ‘I don’t care, Black, White, whatever. I’m not associated with any party. I want a stop to the crime and we have to put people in jail.’ I think that’s coming,” Paul added.

Radical Marxist Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón dodged recall efforts after Los Angeles County banned observers from monitoring the recall vote count.
Observers were not allowed to monitor the vote counting in the effort to recall George Gascón.
The Gascón recall petition was approved in January after the residents of Los Angeles had enough of the Soros DA’s soft-on-crime policies.
But there was a catch…

The Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters said observers are only allowed in standard elections and the recall does not qualify.
On Monday the Los Angeles County registrar announced that the recall efforts failed because not enough *valid* signatures were collected.
According to the LA County Registrar, 520,050 signatures were valid and 195,783 were not valid.
Here’s the breakdown of the invalid signatures according to the registrar:

Los Angeles County reported Monday that over 27% of the signatures submitted on petitions to recall District Attorney George Gascón were invalid — after reporting that less than 1% of mail-in ballots were invalid in the 2020 election.
The county reported that it rejected 195,783 of the 715,833 signatures submitted, roughly 27.3%. The reasons given included that some voters were found to be unregistered; incorrect addresses were given; or signatures did not match those on file.
However, in January 2021, the county reported that less than 1% of the 3,422,585 vote-by-mail ballots submitted were rejected. The test for the validity of ballots is similar to that of petitions, involving checking signatures and addresses.
Given that the State of California mailed ballots to every voter on the rolls, rather than just to those who had requested them as in years past, there was a high likelihood of error; some voters reported receiving multiple ballots, often for prior residents. (These problems persisted in the 2021 recall election for Gov. Gavin Newsom, as personally witness by this author.)
Yet the county reported that 99.38% of vote-by-mail ballots were accepted in 2020. The number of vote-by-mail ballots that were rejected due to inaccurate signatures (12,135) in the election was close to the number rejected for that reason in the recall petitions (9,490), though the number of signatures to be examined in the election was roughly five times greater.
In the primary phase of the 2020 election, when many states were using vote-by-mail for the first time, the rejection rate was roughly one in four, according to the Washington Post. That rate of rejection was less than one percent nationwide in the general election — and lower than the rejection rate in 2016 in many states, when there were far fewer people voting by mail.
One explanation, according to FiveThirtyEight.com, was that “states … proactively changed their election policies to prevent ballots from getting tossed due to lateness,” and that voters were given a chance to “cure” invalid ballots. A more cynical theory was that officials may have lowered standards for rejection given the emphasis on vote-by-mail during the pandemic.
Recall proponents complained that they were not allowed to watch the signature verification process, after county officials said they were not required to allow observers since the petition drive did not qualify as an “election” under state law.

A man waiting for a train in the Philadelphia subway found himself with a gun to his head when he was confronted by an armed ‘juvenile,’ according to reports.

Shocking video footage originally posted on Instagram by someone allegedly involved in the incident has since been shared on other social media sites.

A white male can be seen sitting on a duffel bag with his back against the wall on a SEPTA subway platform.

A black male standing near the man pulls out a pistol, points it at the man, and then moves closer to press it against his skull.

The victim can be heard calmly saying, “Nah, man. C’mon man.”

Voices presumably belonging to the armed perpetrator and an associate filming the encounter can be heard cackling with apparent glee.

“The gunman posted this video to Instagram,” Twitter user PhillyCrimeUpdate wrote on Monday.

“He has no fear of arrest or prosecution. The disturbing part is that they think putting innocent people in fear for their lives is HILARIOUS.”

The video was shared by an Instagram account that is currently private, but a copy was later uploaded to the Reddit forum Phillyscoreboard, where users voiced their disgust with the stunt, as well as the explosive crime wave wracking the City of Brotherly Love.

Multiple Twitter accounts that highlight criminality in Philadelphia also posted the video.

A District Attorney candidate backed by George Soros money is calling for the protection of migrants who have violated US immigration law.

Julie Gunnigle is the candidate’s name, and she is the Democratic nominee for District Attorney in Maricopa County, AZ. She says that she believes that immigrants who enter the country illegally should have their immigration status checked before being charged to prevent them from being deported back to their original country.

She says that when prosecutors make plea agreements with suspects, they are meant to do so with the context of justice as their foremost consideration. However, she doesn’t believe this is happening in many immigration cases. She questions if it might be possible to change how these agreements are done to keep more illegal migrants in the country even if they are charged with a crime.

Gunnigle has ties to many Soros-backed Democratic organizations that seek to accomplish goals such as abolishing the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). She has bragged about her close ties to an organization known as LUCHA in years past. This organization is Soros-backed and also seeks to eliminate ICE. She seems proud that she has done direct work with this organization and is happy to have their endorsement.

She has also lapped praise on the far-left group known as Mass Liberation.

This group has clarified that their ultimate end goal is to abolish ICE.
Although the United States is facing an immigration crisis, a scale it has never had to deal with before. Since Joe Biden took office, approximately 3 million people have illegally crossed the United States via the Southern Border.

However, in some cases, Gunnigle has supported defunding the police and even putting police officers on trial via independent boards.
Maricopa County has the third-largest prosecutor’s office in the country,

and Gunnigle wants to be at the head of it. Even so, she has many views others consider extremist and outside of the mainstream.
One viewpoint that she also holds that is getting a lot of attention at this time is the fact that she wants to reallocate the $25 million that has been set aside for the Phoenix Police Department. If she can, the department could find itself seriously lacking in the funding it needs to do its job. This is another Democratic idea that has gained a lot of traction with Gunnigle and her allies.
The election for the Maricopa District Attorney’s office will be held in November.

Soros Doubles Funding to Left-Wing Legal Group Working To Upend Supreme Court​

Demand Justice shows no signs of giving up after losing on court packing, filibuster reform

Progressive megadonor George Soros has ramped up donations to a group dedicated to packing the Supreme Court, signaling progressives' determination to reshape the judiciary even after a string of defeats.
Demand Justice raked in $4.5 million from Soros's Open Society Foundations to "support policy advocacy on court reform," 2021 fiscal year tax filings show. That's nearly double the $2.5 million Soros gave the group in 2018, when it formed to oppose Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.
Soros's increased donations could buoy Demand Justice as the group fights to regain ground. The past two years saw the group suffer major setbacks, including the confirmation of two conservative justices and centrist Democrats' cooling on efforts to end the Senate filibuster and pack the Court.
Demand Justice does not seem willing to back down, an attitude that was signaled by the group's calls to intensify protests during the Court's last term as its conservative wing delivered historic victories on abortion and Second Amendment rights.
In the wake of the leaked 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, Demand Justice executive director Brian Fallon called for the removal of protective fencing around the Court to help protesters provide "more accountability" of justices.
"SCOTUS leaks are good," he said on Twitter. "Rip the veil off."
The Department of Homeland Security warned of increased threats to Supreme Court justices and potential violence following the opinion leak. Within weeks, a man was arrested outside Kavanaugh's home and confessed to plans to assassinate the justice, citing the Court's anticipated overturn of Roe v. Wade.
When the decision was finally handed down in June, Fallon urged Democrats to expand the Court's seats and referred to the conservative majority as "illegitimate."
Neither the Open Society Foundations nor Demand Justice responded to a request for comment. Fallon, a former press secretary for Hillary Clinton's failed 2016 campaign, told Vanity Fair that he supported protests that took place outside conservative justices' homes after the opinion leaked "as long as they're peaceful."
"I don't think that you should tell people that are on the front lines of having to bear the brunt of the impact of these decisions that they don't get any redress, that they have no ability to protest, or that we don't like the style of how you're registering your dissent," he said.
Until recently, justices have not needed security details outside their homes. The U.S. Marshals Service accelerated 24-hour security measures only after the Dobbs opinion was leaked in May, according to a Justice Department press release.
Demand Justice also spent tens of millions in 2020 to oppose Justice Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation, Politico reported. One of the group's ads said that Barrett and other "far-right Supreme Court" justices would help then-president Donald Trump "steal" the 2020 presidential election.
The following year, the group helped push out then-justice Stephen Breyer to make way for President Joe Biden's progressive appointee Ketanji Brown Jackson, funding a $1 million ad campaign supporting her. Before becoming Biden's press secretary, Jen Psaki served the liberal nonprofit as a communications consultant.
Demand Justice does not disclose its donors and was orginally run by the liberal Sixteen Thirty Fund, another Soros dark money project.
As part of an ongoing effort to remake America's criminal justice system, Soros's Open Society additionally funneled $35 million in 2021 to groups backing the defund the police movement, Fox News reported.

The European Union has confirmed that it is handing over $3.5 million to George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.
Věra Jourová, the vice president of the European Commission, has confirmed that it is providing over $3.5 million in funding to the Open Society Foundation in order to aid its campaign efforts.
Started by Hungarian billionaire George Soros — himself infamous for breaking the Bank of England by shorting sterling as a currency speculator in 1992, nevermind his subsequent massive political lobbying efforts — the NGO has repeatedly been accused of meddling in the affairs of various EU nations, with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán previously denouncing the leftist philanthropist as being “one of the most corrupt people in the world“.
Despite the reputation of its founder, the EU has confirmed that it is in active cooperation with the Open Society Foundation, which is set to receive over €3.3 million (~$3.53 million) in grants from the bloc for the operation of two projects falling under the so-called “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme”. The handover of taxpayers’ cash by the EU is remarkable given how the Open Society Foundation already has such incredibly deep pockets, thanks to its billionaire founder.
As part of the projects, the Open Society Foundation is to “raise awareness on rights and values through support to civil society organisations”, as well as promote “EU values” in Bulgaria, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.
The two projects are said to have begun on the first of January this year, and will both last for a total of 36 months.

While the funding was announced in a then little-heeded written answer from the European Union last month, Romanian Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Cristian Terhes is the latest political figure to speak out against the cash. He told Breitbart London on Monday the EU’s continued decision to hand funds to “human rights destroyers” is proof that the bloc needs reform.
“Soros Open Europe Foundation frequently meets and lobbies the European Commission for the promotion of anti-nation, anti-family, anti-life, anti-fundamental rights policies across EU,” the Christian Democratic National Peasants’ Party representative said.
“The fact that his organisation got three million euros out of taxpayers’ money from his eurocrat puppets is another confirmation why the EU needs a deep reform; where the states will take back decision-making powers from these unelected and accountable bureaucrats,” he continued, adding that power needs to be “brought back to the people”, and not left to the likes of big money lobbyists he identifies as being characterised by billionaires like George Soros or Bill Gates.
Jorge Buxadé — a senior figure within Spain’s populist VOX party — also denounced the decision, taking to social media last month to lash out at the EU’s handing over of funds.
“Globalism and destruction of nations in its purest form, financed with your money,” he wrote in response to the Open Society Foundation being funded by the EU.
The Spaniard also accused the EU of hypocrisy in deciding to fund the Soros-backed organisation, describing the NGO as aiding the illegal activities of Catalonian independence groups, something he compared to alleged Russian election meddling which the EU has been consistently keen to denounce.
The Open Society Foundation has in the past denied playing “any role, financial or otherwise, in supporting the Catalonian independence movement”.
Buxadé is far from the only politician with a bone to pick with Soros, with many others across Europe having in the past expressed their displeasure at the apparent meddling of the billionaire and the organisations linked to him.
“George Soros is one of the most corrupt people in the world; he has plenty of politicians in his pocket who now want to blackmail Hungary and Poland for access to EU funds,” Hungarians Prime Minister said back in 2020 regarding the left-wing philanthropist.
The accusations of corruption run both ways between the two men. Soros for his part said of the Hungarian Prime Minister — a particular target for his scorn, perhaps in part because Soros is a born Hungarian and it may be the European country he has least influence in — that: “Orbán has constructed in Hungary an elaborate kleptocratic system to rob the country blind… The amount by which he has enriched his family and friends is difficult to estimate but many of them have become exceedingly wealthy.”
