In what is nothing short of shocking, appalling, and downright disturbing, a Jewish woman is in critical but stable condition at University Hospital in Newark, NJ after being struck by a car multiple times early this morning in Elizabeth, NJ, TAPinto Elizabeth reports.
The shocking, hard-to-watch, hard-to stomach video below shows the woman running away from what appears to be a Subaru Forester, fleeing onto neighboring properties to try and avoid being hit. The footage also shows the woman being struck, falling to the ground, and then – shockingly – being run over two more times.
The end of the video had to be shortened here because of profanity.
The video was taken at around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Salem Avenue and Aberdeen Street.
TAPinto Elizabeth reports that a spokesperson for the city of Elizabeth says the suspect has been identified and apprehended.

Vincent Jean, a New Jersey man who repeatedly ran over a woman in a bizarre and horrifying road-rage attack. And it was all caught on video (watch the unedited video below).
Witnesses captured the harrowing scene on Tuesday in Elizabeth (NJ) and it shows Jean, 56, driving his silver Mitsubishi SUV over the 23-year-old victim after they had a minor traffic accident nearby, Union County authorities said Wednesday. (Watch it via the player above,)
Jean, who is an Elizabeth resident, tried to flee the scene after the fender-bender, but then took aim at the young woman as she tried to take pictures of his SUV so she could ireport him to police, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said in a statement.

“At that point, the suspect drove his car directly at the victim and she began to run onto the lawn to avoid being struck,” Daniel’s statement said. “The suspect drove onto the lawn and struck the victim, then drove over her before backing up and deliberately running her over a second time.”
Jean — who blared his horn as he drove onto a front yard as the woman screamed — then fled in his SUV, Daniel said. Moments earlier, a shocked witness yelled for him to stop his savage assault, the footage shows,
reports the NY Post.
“Stop!” the witness screamed. “What the f–k! What the f–k!”
Vincent Jean was caught on video running over his victim multiple times.
Cops caught up with Jean later Tuesday as he sat in his damaged SUV in Elizabeth. He was charged with counts including first-degree attempted murder and third-degree assault by auto.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, Daniel said.
Jean remains held at the Union County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing, online records show. It’s unclear if he’s hired an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

Elizabeth man accused of running woman down in apparent road rage incident caught on camera

An Elizabeth man is accused of running down a woman with his car during a road rage incident.
The encounter was all caught on video on a neighbor’s security camera. In the video, 56-year-old Vincent Jean appears to run a woman over multiple times.

Isaac, who did not wish to share his last name, provided the video to
News 12 with permission from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
“He turned the car around and drove over her again. The lunatic – a maniac. He drove over her again, and the people were screaming,” Isaac says.
He says that he still can’t believe what he witnessed, that someone would try to repeatedly run another person down with their vehicle.
“I couldn’t sleep at night. Still thinking about it,” Isaac says.
Witnesses say that Jean was backing down the one-way Salem Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when he hit another car, driven by a 23-year-old woman. That woman got out of her car to take pictures of the fender before Jean could leave in his Mitsubishi SUV. Witnesses say that the act of trying to take photos is what apparently set Jean off.
“The minute she took out the telephone trying to take pictures, he lost it. He picked up at full speed into the driveway, trying to hit her, missed her… Now he’s going forward with the front end of the car after her. He’s insane,” Isaac says.
The woman is seen on the video running for her life. Jean appears to chase her at full speed. The woman is seen slipping and Jean appears to run right over her, backs up and does it again. Jean then appears to take off in the Mitsubishi, even darting around an empty school bus. The school bus driver even tries to stop the fleeing vehicle.
“This is just another level of road rage that you think isn’t even possible,” says neighbor David Schnall.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She is said to be in fair condition, as of Wednesday afternoon.
Jean was arrested a few hours after the incident. He faces several charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault by auto.
