I must admit that taking the advice of American Skinheads has made a world of difference in Chile. The good news is that many doors have been opened to us, which had been closed before. For instance, Skinheads had previously been meeting up in the mountains, in very isolated spots, shunning public-places and being entirely out of the spotlight. Then, whenever we published our photographs, we would always blot out our faces, not wanting anyone to know who we were. I guess it was just an impulse to be "undercover" or, even "underground," considering how we have been so persecuted by the police. Also, we tended to be entirely alone, not trusting those who were not Skinheads. But, thanks to American Skinheads, all that has changed
. It took us a year or so to mull over the idea of appearing starkly and boldly in public. And, selecting La Moneda, the Chilean national capitol, for our massive Skinhead parade shocked many, at first. But, victory is now ours.
