Laverne Cox turned 50 in style.
The “Inventing Anna” actress celebrated the milestone birthday Thursday night at a Barbie-themed party at Magic Hour Rooftop at the Moxy Times Square in New York— and she even dressed to match the new doll in her likeness.
The LGBTQIA+ advocate was recently honored with the first Barbie modeled after a transgender woman, which is part of Mattel’s Tribute Collection featuring inspiring women.
The “Orange is the New Black” star — who turns 50 on Sunday — stepped out in a red leather corset and long, sheer red skirt over a sparkling silver catsuit, just like her doll.
“What excites me most about her being out in the world is that trans young people can see her and maybe get to purchase her and play with her, and know that there’s a Barbie made by Mattel, for the first time, in the likeness of a trans person,” she told People.

The Emmy winner made sure her birthday was as Barbie-themed as possible — including a life-sized box that guests could pose inside of with photo props.
Decorations featured pink poodles along with cardboard cutouts of her new doll in various variations of its sassy outfit.

“I was like, ‘What if we did a look that peeled?'” Cox told E! News, adding that while she would have liked the doll to have multiple outfits, it was necessary to improvise with one multi-use look.
“She gives you a catsuit fantasy, honey,” Cox said. “Transgender Barbie is in effect. She’s giving you looks. She’s giving you everything.”
The actress even had a special five-tiered, bow-trimmed cake for her milestone birthday topped with her new doll, as shared on friend Paul McGill’s Instagram story.

Cox’s Barbie is available for $40 on the Mattel website along with retailers like Target and Walmart.
