Mother Dead; Children Hurt
CHESTER TWP, PA-June 30, 2005 ”” An early morning tragedy struck a home in Chester Township, Delaware County. A mother is dead. Her three young children seriously injured. The crime scene is so bad that police are wearing environmental suits.
Authorities responded to a 911 hang-up call at about 2:15am.
Officers who arrived at the scene say a man came out of the home carrying an infant. He refused to cooperate. There was an ongoing struggle that went on for quite a few minutes. Tasers were used. Finally, a fatal shot was fired.
Police then found a woman already dead and three badly injured children, including the infant.
Blood is everywhere i
n the house, police say. Conditions are so bad that detectives are wearing environmental suits.
Chief Tim Wilson/Chester Township Police: "Horrible. There's blood all over the walls, doorframes, bathtub. I've been doing this job 21 years, I've never seen anything like this."
A person who says they are related to the family tells Action News they believe this was some sort of domestic situation but police have not been able to confirm that.
