A Newport News mother found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and child neglect after letting her 10-year old daughter drive a car - which struck and killed a six-year old girl and left a four-year old seriously injured last year - will spend one year behind bars.

Authorities say the vehicle hit six-year-old [b]Onnesity Williams[/b] of the 500 block of West Oceanview Avenue in Norfolk. She died from her injuries a short time later at the hospital. The other victim, four-year-old [b]Tanaia Goad[/b], was pinned between the car and a brick wall. Goad survived, but was hospitalized for her injuries.
