Man charged in connection to crossdress murder

A man suspected of killing a cross-dressing prostitute in Detroit has been arrested.
Now the victim's closest friends are speaking to Fox 2 about what needs to be done to protect the local LGBT community.
Friends of the victim say "we're happy that a man has been caught. Thank you" and that they feel like Melvin can rest in peace now, and that man deserve what he get.
The people who were closest to 33-year-old Gregory Daniels, also known as Melvin, say his death is a sign of intolerance.
Friends say Melvin was a prostitute who dressed as a woman. He was shot and killed last Monday morning on Arizona Street in Detroit. The alleged shooter, 44-year-old Byron Lacey of Warren, is now in custody, on murder and firearm charges which could put him away for life.
