A sicko scrawled three swastikas on a Manhattan sidewalk, the NYPD said.
The hate symbols appeared in the rear of 420 East 61st Street on the Upper East Side at about 10:15 a.m. June 23, cops said.
Police on Saturday released several surveillance photos of the suspect, a 50-year-old 5-foot-9 man, weighing 160 pounds, with a medium complexion, medium build and sporting a salt and pepper beard. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap with the words ‘New York’ written on the front, and a dark colored long sleeve shirt with vertical stripes, authorities said.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
Hate crimes in the city are up 14 percent this year through July 10, with 343, compared to the same time in 2021, which saw 302 incidents, NYPD data show. Hate crimes in the 19th Precinct — where the June 23 incident occurred — are up 58% through July 10, up to 19 incidents from 12 the year prior, the statistics show.
The Anti-Defamation League reported 260 anti-Semitic incidents in New York City for 2021, including 106 incidents of vandalism, 90 incidents of harassment and 48 assaults, the ADL figures show.
Anti-Semitic incidents in the state rose 24% last year, with 416 recorded cases, including 51 assaults — the most physical attacks the ADL has recorded since it began collecting data more than 40 years ago. Attacks on Jewish institutions like synagogues and schools were up 41%.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)

Court shown swastikas Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz drew during class

Jurors at Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz’s sentencing trial will be allowed to see swastikas he drew on assignments, a Florida judge ruled Thursday — over objections from defense attorneys who argued their client was an equal opportunity killer.
Lawyers, in a failed attempt to bar the repugnant drawings from being entered into evidence, noted that Cruz murdered without regard for race or religion.
Presenting the Nazi symbols would be excessively prejudicial, they argued — adding that Cruz’s 2018 rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was not suggestive of racial hate.
The 17 students and staffers Cruz slaughtered, and the more than a dozen he injured at the Parkland, Florida school on Feb. 14, 2018, included black, white, Asian, Jewish and Hispanic people.
But Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer overruled the bid and allowed the images into evidence.

She also brushed aside an ensuing call for a mistrial prompted by her ruling, calling the request “disingenuous.”

Jurors will decide if Cruz, 23, will get life in prison or the death sentence for one of the worst mass shootings in the nation’s history.

Cruz’s attorneys have argued that his troubled upbringing warrants the lesser term, while prosecutors counter that the mass killing deserves the harshest penalty available.

Then 19, Cruz sprayed defenseless students and staffers with an AR-15 rifle on three separate floors on Valentine’s Day.

Prosecutors have stressed the indiscriminate brutality of the rampage — noting that Cruz circled back to some wounded students and finished them off.

The defense has highlighted Cruz’s troubled beginnings, including being put up for adoption by his crack-addicted prostitute mom as an infant.

A man in a Nazi uniform was intimidated into leaving a Soho bar as patrons shamed and threatened him.
The incident was captured on a video posted to Twitter Saturday night, as costumed Halloween revelers imbibed across the boroughs.
In the clip, the smiling young man, donning full regalia including a swastika armband, sidled up to the bar at Fanelli Cafe, leaving other patrons aghast.

“What is wrong with you?,” one woman demanded.
The would-be customer shrugged as he appeared to be denied service and exchanged words with a customer that told him to leave in vulgar terms.

“F–k you mate,” the offensively costumed man retorted.
“You want to get f—ed up? [Leave] for your own safety,” the woman implored as a man walked up to the unwanted patron and pointed to the door, prompting him to exit.
The hostess working the brunch shift at Fanelli the next morning said no one that works at the bar had seen the man before.

A man who allegedly scrawled more than a dozen swastikas around Queens was busted four years ago for jumping the fence at the White House, police officials said Friday.
Antoine Blount, 34, was arrested Thursday in the latest act of hatred, according to cops, who said he etched two swastikas on the street, one of which was in front of the Queens police precinct.
“He’s arrested on March 26 and charged with 10 (anti-Semitic crimes),” Chief of Detectives James Essig said Friday. “He gets released on the 27th, then on the 30th outside of 80 Centre St., he’s caught drawing another swastika on the ground. So he’s arrested for that one.”
Blount was released after arraignment, according to Essig — only to strike again.
“On Friday, a swastika was found outside the 112th Precinct in Rego Park, Queens,” Essig said. “We review the cameras and, there he is again, etching another swastika.”
He drew the recent hateful symbols using chalk and rocks, police said.

Charges in the hate spree were pending. He also faces nine counts of aggravated harassment and three misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief as a hate crime.

Blount’s past record included a 2019 incident in which he climbed on top of a bike rack and scaled the fence at the White House, according to Essig.

He also served 15 months in federal prison for a pair of bank robberies in Manhattan in 2012, after which he repeatedly violated supervised release.

“He hasn’t said,” Essig replied when asked if Blount hates Jewish people, adding: “I think we can draw some conclusions.”

“He’s walking around the city burning swastikas all over the place,” Essig said.

NEWTON, Mass. — School officials are investigating after they say a hateful image was found drawn on the wall of a high school bathroom Thursday morning.
In a letter sent home to parents, Newton High School South Principal Tamara Stras says a swastika was drawn “with chocolate or a similar substance” on the wall of the boy’s bathroom located in the 6000 wing of the school.
“I cannot express the anger and disappointment that we all feel because we have people who are continuing to perpetuate hate in our building,” she said.

The school has also contacted Newton Police as well as the Anti-Defamation League to assist with the investigation. Similarly, school officials say they’ve contacted the South Human Rights Council, their incident response team, and their Jewish Staff Affinity Group for student support.

“I want to assure you that we as a school and district are deeply dedicated to addressing hate and discrimination issues and educating our students to stand up against hate,” Stras said. “South will always strive to be a place where all feel seen, heard, and supported.”

Driver crashes U-Haul into security barrier near White House

A U-Haul crashed into a security barrier near the White House Monday night, and the driver had a Nazi flag in the truck with him.
New video released Monday nights shows a frightening situation that played out near the White House.

A U-Haul truck crashed into a security barrier protecting Lafayette Park, which is located in front of the White House gates.

Investigators are now looking into the possibility this was an intentional act.

The Secret Service says the U-Haul's cargo area was empty, but an officer pulled what appeared to be a Nazi flag from the cab of the truck.

The driver is now facing a number of charges including threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a President or family member and assault with a deadly weapon.

BREAKING: Suspect in White House gate U-Haul crash identified asSai Varshith Kandula

The driver who crashed a U-Haul into the security barriers near the White House on Monday evening has been identified as Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, of Chesterfield, Missouri.

According to Fox 5, Kandula was taken into custody at the scene and faces charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, the threat to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm on a President, Vice President, or family, destruction of federal property, and trespassing.
Karol Markowicz reported the suspect's identity.

A Nazi flag was allegedly found at the scene by authorities, according to NBC News.

One law enforcement official told NBC News that Kandula had made threatening statements about the White House and was quickly detained. The official added that the truck contained no explosives or weapons.
“I don’t think there’s any place for a Nazi flag or the statements that he made,” the official said.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Gugliemli said that the truck crashed into the northern side of Lafayette Square at around 10 pm on Monday evening.
Guglielmi said in a statement, “Shortly before 10:00 p.m. Monday, Secret Service Uniformed Division officers detained the driver of a box truck after the vehicle collided with security barriers on the north side of Lafayette Square at 16th Street.”
He added that there were no injuries and that the crash is under investigation, but added that the preliminary investigation reveals that the driver may have intentionally crashed into the barriers.

U-Haul - A customer must be 18 years of age to rent a truck. Typically, other rental companies have the same requirements. In some cases, companies set the minimum age at 24 years old or older but allow drivers 18-23 years of age to rent for an additional fee.

Court documents stated Kandula claimed to have arrived at Dulles from St. Louis that same night on a one-way ticket. He also claimed he rented a U-Haul from a nearby location.

The company confirmed with FOX 5 that they did rent to Kandula Monday. A U-Haul spokesperson said he picked up the truck from a Herndon, Virginia store with a license and valid payment. But the spokesperson wouldn’t share any safety or security changes the company is considering.

FOX 5 learned in court Tuesday the 19-year-old suspect does not have a criminal history but given the serious allegations, he was held behind bars until he appears in a D.C. Federal Courthouse Wednesday.

Protesters with Nazi flags seen outside Disney World: ‘Absolutely disgusting’

A Florida state legislator posted video and images on her social media showing several individuals waving Nazi flags and banners with fascist symbols outside Walt Disney World in Orlando.
Anna Eskamani, who represents parts of the Orlando region in the Florida House of Representatives, posted brief clips on Saturday showing the shocking display from Friday, calling it “absolutely disgusting.”
Shannon Watts, an anti-gun activist, also posted an image which appeared to show the same group of protesters holding up homophobic signs.
Nearby was a banner touting the presidential campaign of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“Two dozen white supremacists are outside the main Disney World entrance in Orlando right now, marching with signs featuring Gov DeSantis’s face, swastikas, the n-word and homophobic slurs,” Watts tweeted.
“This is the 2023 Republican Party.”

The Post has sought comment from Disney World and DeSantis.
It is unclear which organization the protesters are affiliated with.
Disney has been at the center of a political firestorm that has pitted the entertainment giant against the Florida governor, who recently announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination for president.

The company has sued DeSantis after his administration stripped the Mouse House of semi-autonomous control over the specially created tax district that oversees zoning on the land where the theme parks were built.

Disney has alleged that DeSantis violated the company’s First Amendment rights to free expression after it came out against the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” legislation that bars sex and gender identity education for children before the third grade.

Roy Disney Sr., who co-founded the namesake entertainment giant with his brother Walt Disney, “is spinning in his grave” over a group of Nazi demonstrators who flew giant swastika flags outside Disney World on Saturday, according to his granddaughter.
Abigail Disney, appalled by the hateful display, tweeted that her late grandfather would also be revolted by the caught-on-video demonstration outside the Orlando amusement park’s main entrance.
Photos and videos of the display shared by a Florida state legislator show a group of men standing at the entrance holding multiple large Nazi flags as well as anti-Semitic, homophobic and racist signs.
At least one had a sign of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ face and the group had planted a “DeSantis 2024 Make America Florida” flag in support of the Republican’s presidential campaign.

Rep. Anna Eskamani, who represents parts of Orlando, posted the footage to Twitter and called the display of hate “absolutely disgusting.”
She told the Daily Beast that Saturday’s Nazi protest is not that unusual in Florida nowadays.
“This is maybe the 10th time this year alone,” Eskamani told the outlet. “It’s absolutely disgusting to see what has become a common presence of Nazis in Florida, and even more disturbing when they are holding signs and flags that signal support for people like Governor DeSantis.”

About 15 people in total protested outside the theme park for about two hours, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told USA Today, adding that no arrests were made.

“We are aware of these groups that aim to agitate and incite people with anti-Semitic symbols and slurs. They are also aware of the law,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The Orange County Sheriff’s Office deplores hate speech in any form, but people have the First Amendment right to demonstrate.”

The Sunshine State governor and the Mouse House have publicly sparred in a months-long legal battle that is still ongoing.

Disney openly condemned DeSantis’ so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill last year and DeSantis retaliated by trying to take power over the media giant.

The company sued DeSantis after his administration stripped it of its semi-autonomous control over the specially created tax district that oversees zoning on the land where Disney World sits.

Video of Neo-Nazis' Swastika Display at Georgia Synagogue Sparks Outrage

By Khaleda Rahman On 6/25/23 at 5:29 AM EDT

A group of neo-Nazis gathered outside a synagogue in Georgia on Saturday, sparking outrage from passersby and online.

The far-right activists stood in front of the Chabad of Cobb in East Cobb, a suburb in the north of Atlanta, and waved swastika flags while holding up signs with antisemitic messages, according to videos and photos on social media.

The East Cobb News reported that a group of counter-protestors stood across the road from them, capturing video and yelling at the neo-Nazi group to "go home!" while police officers stood on either side of the road.

Photos appear to show Jon Minadeo II in front of the synagogue, according to the nonprofit StopAntisemtism.org.

Minadeo, the leader of the Goyim Defense League (GDL), held a similar event outside a synagogue in Macon, Georgia, on Friday. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and public disturbance and released on bond that evening, local news station 13WMAZ reported.
The GDL is "a small network of virulently antisemitic provocateurs" led by Minadeo, whose "overarching goal is to cast aspersions on Jews and spread antisemitic myths and conspiracy theories," the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) says on its website.

The ADL warned on Twitter that "a small group of supporters of the Goyim Defense League embarked on their latest antisemitic stunt this weekend, trolling Jewish communities in Georgia, distributing hateful fliers and holding rallies outside synagogues."

The ADL added: "We thank law enforcement for keeping tabs on GDL's efforts to provoke hate and violence. We're heartened by the outpouring of support from allies. And we encourage people not to engage directly with GDL supporters or give them the attention they crave."

Unbelievable - just one day after being arrested for causing a disturbance at Temple Beth Israel, Jon Minadeo led a Nazi rally today in East Cobb, GA in front of a Jewish Chabad Center. https://t.co/yFKzDffEDy pic.twitter.com/Ng1yaBRAh3

The incidents have been condemned on social media, including by Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock.

"Yesterday we saw antisemitism on display in Macon, and now in metro Atlanta. This has got to stop," Warnock tweeted. "Praying for our Jewish community in Georgia and beyond. We must all raise our voices loudly against this vile hate."

The Chabad of Cobb posted a statement on its Facebook page late on Saturday night, saying: "We are extremely appreciative and thankful for the outpouring of support and concern from all segments of the community.

"We have been in communication with Cobb County officials, who have identified these individuals as part of a small group that travels around the country in order to spread their hateful message. East Cobb has been a wonderful home to a flourishing Jewish community for many years. These individuals do not represent the sentiments of the citizens of East Cobb."

The statement added that the synagogue is "working closely with Cobb County officials and the police department to ensure the security and safety of our campus. There is no threat whatsoever at this time."

Newsweek has contacted the synagogue and the Cobb County Police Department for further comment via email.

A Mexican Couple Had a Nazi-Themed Wedding Because ‘Hitler Was Vegan’

Swastikas adorned the wedding carriage, and the groom and some of the guests were dressed as Nazi Waffen-SS soldiers, local media reported.

by Luis Chaparro
May 6, 2022, 8:09am

Their wedding carriage was an old Volkswagen Beetle with a huge swastika painted over the front and sides. The groom emerged dressed as a German soldier with the emblematic Nazi double S bolts on his wristbands.
On April 29, the same day Adolf Hitler married Eva Braun 77 years ago, a Mexican couple had a Nazi-themed wedding in the central Mexican state of Tlaxcala, sparking outrage from a Jewish human rights organization.

“People don’t know the real story,” the groom, Fernando, who didn't share his last name, told Mexican newspaper Milenio in an interview at the wedding. “He [Hitler] was a vegan, got his country out of poverty, and regained the German territory lost during World War I.”
Fernando and his new wife, Josefina, had children before they were married this week, according to reporting. They named their first son Reinhard, after SS leader General Reinhard Heydrich, and their daughter Hanna Gertrud, after Hanna Reitsch, a German pilot who allegedly rescued Hitler from a bunker during the war.

According to Milenio, the wedding party was crowded with fellow Nazi admirers, some even dressed as German soldiers.
Fernando admitted receiving hate mail and even death threats because of his longtime support for Hitler.
“My dad and my uncles are followers of NS [National Socialism], and since I was a kid I’ve had to face people. I’ve been hit, spit on, and one time a man even pointed a gun in my face while shouting ‘Nazi,’” he said.
No Mexican authority or organization has publicly addressed the Nazi-themed celebration.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish human rights organization based in Los Angeles, called on the Mexican government this week to “take appropriate measures” against the newlyweds.

“Mexico has voted for the United Nations resolution that condemns the distortion of the Holocaust and all forms of racism,” Dr. Shimon Samuels, director for international relations at the center, said in a press release. “However, there has been no reaction by the state or human rights organizations condemning this outrage.”
This isn’t the first time Nazi symbols have been used in Mexico.
In 2015, a university in Guadalajara hosted a Nazi-themed dance contest with German classical music and recordings of Adolf Hitler’s voice. The video of the performance went viral on YouTube and sparked outrage across the country.
And in 2020, Volkswagen cut all ties with a distributor in Mexico City after someone posted several photos on Twitter showing a wall from inside the business decorated with the image of a VW Beetle coupled with swastikas.

A group of neo-Nazis brandished swastika flags and other anti-Semitic propaganda outside multiple Georgia synagogues over the weekend.

Several members of the hate group Goyim Defense League were pictured outside Chabad Lubavitch of Cobb County in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta on Saturday.

The disturbing protest was led by the group’s leader Jon Minadeo II — a day after he was charged with disorderly conduct and public disturbance in front of Temple Beth Israel in Macon, WMAZ-TV reported.

“This was the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Chabad of Cobb member Stewart Levy told WSB-TV.

“I am shocked, absolutely shocked to see this here. When I see the amount of ignorance out there and some of the truths that they are promoting, it is just frightening the level of inaccurate knowledge that there is.”

Minadeo was arrested a day earlier in Macon after he continued shouting obscenities through a bullhorn even though authorities had asked him to stop, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He was released from the Bibb County jail Saturday and apparently headed straight to Cobb, the newspaper said.

The displays of hate in Macon had prompted hundreds of people to gather at Temple Beth Israel on Saturday to show their solidarity with the Jewish community, far outnumbering the 10 or so people behind the hateful demonstration, according to the Telegraph.

“I knew it wasn’t people in Macon-Bibb, because the Christians, Jews and various other religions have had an extremely peaceful co-existence in this town forever,” said Mike Kaplan, whose family has attended the house of worship for five generations.

“This congregation was established in 1859, and we’ve never had this happen. We’re more grateful for the response than we are saddened by the actions of these few people who came from out of town and brought hate to Macon,” added Kaplan, who is also the chair of the county election board.

The Peach Tree State tour of hate had started earlier Friday in the city of Warner Robins, where residents woke up to anti-Semitic fliers in plastic bags weighted down by pellets that some residents feared were poisonous, according to the station.

“We actually had one in the driveway, and one in front of our house at the mailbox,” Tresa Wilson told the outlet.

Her neighbor was on the phone with the police and had warned her not to touch the hateful literature.

“The first instinct was, ‘What about kids? What about animals?’ If this is some kind of poison, they could easily get ahold of it,” said Tresa’s husband, Joshua Wilson.

The incidents prompted Jewish leaders to share pictures of the hateful display in front of Chabad of Cobb on social media in the hopes of publicly shaming the protesters, who had maintained they were exercising their First Amendment rights.

“This is part of a disturbing trend that we have seen on the rise for over five years now. From 2021 to 2022, we saw more than 60% increase in anti-Semitic incidents in the state of Georgia. Nationally, we are seeing anti-Semitic incidents at an all-time record high in 2022,” Anti-Defamation League Southeast regional director Eytan Davidson told WSB-TV.

The ADL has warned that the Goyim Defense League is a “network of individuals connected by their virulent anti-Semitism,” adding that their moniker is an attempt to parody the ADL.

The Holocaust deniers spread conspiracy theories about Jews controlling the media, economy and government as well as disparaging them as child molesters, the ADL says.

The GDL made headlines last year when it hung a banner over a Los Angeles freeway in support of Kanye West, who was labeled 2022’s Anti-Semite of the Year by the group StopAntisemitism.
