'White supremacists' admit racist attack

Two "white supremacist" skinheads have admitted a racially-motivated attack on three Asian students :asian: in Nelson earlier in the month.

Harry Shannon Dennis McCormack, 28, and Daniel Bryan Kitto, 20, pleaded guilty in Nelson District Court yesterday to assault with intent to injure and assault.

They were remanded in custody until May 1 for sentencing.

The court was told that McCormack told police he did not like Asians and he targeted the students specifically to injure them.

Kitto joined in the attack to prove something to his friends.

Police said earlier that the pair attacked three 16-year-old Nelson College students seated outside a Nelson store.

They called the students "monkeys" and told them to "go home".

McCormack, who was wearing heavy boots, kicked one of the students in the head and then punched a second boy in the face, while Kitto started punching the third student.

Police said the skinheads had white supremacist views and described the attack as "nasty and unprovoked".
