Two eagle-eyed Port Authority cops busted a wanted murder suspect as he was boarding a Greyhound bus at the Manhattan terminal, police said Sunday.
Victor Carter, 39, was being sought by police in Stoughton, Mass., for the slaying of 40-year-old mom of four Amber Buckner, who was found dead behind her home Tuesday, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said.
Massachusetts cops sent out Carter’s name and photo to law-enforcement agencies, and Port Authority Officers Robert Greff and Robert Pelc armed with both checked passenger lists for the moniker while on patrol at the transit terminal around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, sources said.
They found Carter’s name on a list of travelers for a departing Greyhound bus, waited for him to try to board it on the lower level of the north wing of the station and nabbed him, law-enforcement sources said.
“I have no idea why there is a warrant for my arrest,” Carter allegedly told the cops, according to sources.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement, “We extend our particular gratitude to the Port Authority Police for their help and assistance in their jurisdiction.”
Carter made his first court appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday and was ordered held on a fugitive warrant. Morrissey said extradition proceedings are underway.
Buckner, who had a previous relationship with Carter, was found dead behind a house at 743 Park St. in Stoughton, Morrissey said.
