BROCKTON, Mass. -- A former Middleboro High School teacher was charged with raping a 15-year-old male student.
Gregory Pathiakis, 24, was arrested at his Brockton apartment on Tuesday, about a month after he quit the sc
ool amid questions about his contact with students.
He was arraigned on charges of rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14. Bail was set at $5,000.

e had not posted bail as of 8 a.m. Wednesday and was still being held at the Plymouth County jail, spokesman Mike Seele told The Enterprise of Brockton.
Suspicions first arose at Middleboro High School over Pathiakis chatting
online with students, and students from Middleboro visiting him at his Brockton apartment, said Brockton police Lt. William K. Conlon.
School officials questioned him before he resigned on Dec. 3, Conlon said.
Just before Christmas, Pathiakis contacted one of his former students, a 15-year-old boy, and took him to a hockey game in Brockton, Conlon said.
Then Pathiakis drove the boy to an empty parking lot, where he raped him, Conlon said.
"(The boy) tried to get out the door, but it was locked," Conlon told the Enterprise. "
;He tried to fight him off, but he couldn't get him off him."
Pathiakis then took the boy home. The boy told his parents, who contacted authorities.
