South Toledo man accused of shooting fireworks at dog

A South Toledo man is accused of shooting fireworks directly at a dog over the weekend, according to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court.
Caleb L. Barnes-Williams, 18, of the 200 block of Corinth Street, is charged with misdemeanor offenses of cruelty to animals and discharging fireworks for Saturday’s incident in the 2500 block of North Erie Street, court records show.
Mr. Barnes-Williams, who was on a third-floor balcony, is accused of igniting and throwing fireworks at a dog who was on the ground level, according to the affidavit.
The fireworks exploded on, around, and underneath the dog, court records said.
The dog’s condition and the extent of its injuries were not immediately known.
