Unborn Baby Dies After Triple Shooting
No Arrests Made In Case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A pregnant woman's unborn child has died after she was shot last week, KMBC's Chris Nagus reported Tuesday.

No arrests have been made in Friday's triple shooting at a house in the 2900 block of Highland Avenue. Gerald Blake was killed. Blake's pregnant sister, Kiki Herron, and a family friend were also shot.

"Everybody is walking around -- somebody knows something, somebody knows," said Lee Herron, who is Herron's uncle.

Kiki Herron is still recovering in a local hospital.

"I just know she's breathing and getting better day by day," Lee Herron said.

He hopes his niece will tell police who pulled the trigger.

If an arrest is made, Jackson County Prosecutor Mike Sanders said he would consider filing two murder charges -- one for Blake, and
one for the unborn baby.

Neighbors gathered for a vigil Tuesday night. Some of them told KMBC that they believed the baby was murdered, regardless of whether the state can prove it.

The family friend who was shot is also still recovering.

Anyone with information in the case can contact the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-8477.
