Woman assaulted in violent Sydney car-jacking

A woman was punched and kicked in the head while her luxury convertible was stolen in a Sydney car-jacking.

The 47-year-old was assaulted in her $80,000 ($NZ99,317.19) Lexus convertible by two men, shortly before 3am (NZT) yesterday in North Parramatta, police said.

She woman had stopped the black convertible on Brickfield Street when the men got out of a nearby car and reached through her window.

As the woman got out of her car her attackers punched her in the head, and kicked her in the face after she had fallen to the ground.

The two then drove off in her car, while a third man drove off in their dark-coloured sedan.

Despite the viciousness of the attack the woman did not require medical treatment, police said.

Police have described the woman's attackers as of Middle Eastern appearance, aged in their early 20s, and about 170-175 cm tall.

They have warned anyone who sees the Lexus convertible, with registration number GB 04 AG, not to approach the car but to call triple-0.
