Williamsport Negro Charged with Rape

A Williamsport man was arrested on Christmas morning on charges that he sexually assaulted a child.
Williamsport police say Shaun Cormier, 20, is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl on Sunday.
According to police, the victim said the assault happened at a home that she and a friend went to around 4 p.m.
The girl's friend, a 14-year-old girl, said the two went to the home to meet with a man they knew as "Rock" and his cousin, whose name they did not know. The cousin was later determined to be Cormier.
The police report says that when the girls arrived, "Rock" was not home, but Cormier asked them to come inside. Cormier allegedly forced the younger girl into a bedroom and assaulted her. The 14-year-old told police she heard her friend scream for help from the next room.
Cormier faces numerous charges in connection with the alleged assault. He is in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
