6 Suspects Arrested In Separate Killings
NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have arrested six suspects in connection with two separate killings in which the same weapon was used. A Crimestoppers tip led to the arrests, police said.
In the first case, Ryan Morgan, 19, and about five of his friends were walking home Oct. 25 at about 10:30 p.m. in the 6000

block of Campus Boulevard, when they were approached by three masked gunman demanding money.
Before Morgan could surrender his cash, one of the men shot and killed him and all three fled the scene.
Just before the shooting, witnesses sai
d a dark-colored Mitsubishi Diamante was seen repeatedly passing in the area.
In the second case, officers responding to a robbery on Nov. 1 found Firass Khaled, 32, lying inside the front door of the Savemore Supermarket at 2818 Higgins Blvd. He had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at Charity Hospital.
Soon after the Nov. 1 shooting, officers learned that the same weapon was used in both crimes. The weapon was later recovered. Afterwards, a suspect was developed, which eventually led detectives to others.
Booked with first-degree murder in the Higgins Boulevard murder are Derek Winding, 20, of 2510 Annette St.; Richard Sylve, 17, of 4977 Feliciana St.; and Kevin Martin, 18, of 6245 Providence Place.
