Man arrested in death of infant

COVINGTON - Homicide investigators arrested a Corryville man Wednesday in the death of his 2-month-old son earlier this year in Northern Kentucky.
Alonzo Ward, 21, of the 200 block of East McMillan Street, will be arraigned this morning in Kenton District Court on a murder charge. He was being held at the Kenton County jail on no bond.

Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Crockett, whose office is prosecuting the case, said Ward told authorities he accidentally bumped his child's head, possibly against a banister.
A medical examiner ruled the child had died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Crockett said investigators felt they had enough evidence to charge Ward once the medical examiner's report and information gathered from the autopsy were turned over to police.
Ward was arrested at the Covington police station Wednesday after coming in to answer some questions from detectives.
Officials said the child received the fatal injury while Ward was watchi
ng his son and an older child.
The mother of the two children was working at the time. Covington police didn't release the name of the children or mother.
