Raeven Johnson

MADISON (WKOW) -- A woman who was convicted of an attack on a Madison Metro bus driver was sentenced to serve time in prison.

At a sentencing hearing on Friday, court records show a Dane County judge sentenced Raeven Johnson to three years in prison in connection with the attack. She was also ordered to serve an additional three years on extended supervision.

Johnson, 26, of Madison, pleaded guilty to attempted battery of a public transit operator and second-degree recklessly endangering safety for the February 2025 incident.

Police said Johnson was riding a Metro bus and became angry with the driver when she realized the route would not stop at Rimrock Road. She hit him several times while he was driving, which caused him to lose control and crash into the Asian House restaurant and QPS Employment Group off Milwaukee Street.

As a term of Johnson's sentence, she is banned from Madison Metro property, including city buses. She must also follow through with a care plan and undergo psychiatric or psychological evaluation as deemed appropriate.

Records show Johnson was also sentenced in another case on Friday, in which she entered a plea agreement at the same time as the bus driver attack case. A judge ordered Johnson to spend two years in prison on those charges, followed by two years of extended supervision, for a total of five years in prison and five years on extended supervision.
