Carjacker has dark complexion and "puffy lips"
Gunman in carjacking sought in East St. Louis
EAST ST. LOUIS --Police are searching for the suspect in a carjacking that occurred Wednesday morning.
A gunman walked up to a red 2000 Oldsmobile Alero at a stoplight at 18th Street and Missouri Avenue, forced the driver out and took off in the car, police said.
"The suspect approached the victim at the stoplight, forced him out and made him lie on the ground," East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Baxton said.
The victim was not reported to be injured.
The carjacking occurred at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.
The suspect is described as a black male, standing 5-feet 6-inches to 5-feet 7-inches, with a dark complexion and puffy lips. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt.
Police are looking for the victim's vehicle.
