July 4, 2011 (JOLIET, Ill.) (WLS) -- An Iowa woman was arrested after her two dogs were found dead in her car while she went shopping in a Joliet furniture store.
Maya Webb, 27, of Bettendorf, Iowa, is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. Police say they were called to the store parking lot and found Webb crying outside her car and two pit bulls dead inside the vehicle.
Investigators say Webb told them she left the motor running and air conditioning going, but officers say the car was not running when they arrived.
Police say Webb was inside the store about two hours.
