CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities say a Cambridge man is facing animal cruelty charges after two pit bull puppies were seized from his Locust Street home late last month.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday arrested 23-year-old Dorrell Ennals Skinner on a total of eight counts of violating animal cruelty statutes.
Police say Skinner was wanted in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred on Oct. 23, in which he was housing two pit bull puppies in a wooden box on his property. The puppies were kept in the dark and had no room to exercise, according to investigators.
The Sheriff's Office says the puppies in question were seized and treated by a local veterinarian and are currently in recovery.
Following Skinner's arrest, he was ordered released by a Dorchester County District Court commissioner.
