ICE Lodges Arrest Detainer for Venezuelan Criminal Illegal Alien who Brutally Murdered Victim and Claimed to Bury Body in Concrete in Illinois ​

This criminal illegal alien who now faces homicide and kidnaping charges was released into the U.S. by the Biden administration despite having a final order of removal 

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer for criminal illegal alien, Jose Javier Coronado-Meza, 25, of Venezuela, who has been charged in the brutal, execution-style murder of 31-year-old Gregori Arias in Cook County, Illinois.

Ariaswas murdered in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood June 22.

ICElodged an arrest detainer with the Cook County Jail to ensure he is notreleased into American neighborhoods. Unfortunately, Governor Pritzker’sIllinois is a sanctuary state that does not cooperate with ICE.  

Coronado-Mezais accused ofshooting Arias in the head, execution-style. After the murder, Coronado-Mezaand his associates attempted to cover up the crime by transporting Arias’ bodyto a construction site, where they planned to bury his remains inconcrete. After the killing, Coronado-Meza allegedly bragged about hisinvolvement in the murder.  

Coronado-Mezahas also been charged with murder, concealing a homicidal death, aggravated unlawful restraint, kidnapping, and unlawful possession of aweapon. 

“This sick, depraved criminal alien—JoseJavier Coronado-Meza—should have never been in our country in the first place,but the Biden administration chose to allow him to roam free on Americanstreets. Despite having a final order of removal from an immigration judge, theBiden administration released this criminal into our country,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “We will not allow sanctuary politiciansto put the lives of Americans at risk.” 

Coronado-Mezafirst illegally entered the United States near Laredo, Texas, on September 4,2023 — during the surge at the border under the Biden administration. He wasprocessed for expedited removal and removed from the U.S. 

Amonth later, he illegally re-entered the country illegally, a felony.  

OnOct. 18, 2023, he was transferred to ICE custody and spent 166 days at theStewart Detention Center. An immigration judge issued him a final order ofremoval on December 4, 2023. Despite have a final order of removal, the BidenAdministration released this criminal into American communities on April 1,2024.  

Coronado-Meza is currently being held in the Cook County Jail in Chicago pending trial.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested a truck driver and canceled his visa after finding a large amount of cocaine hidden within a car hauler at a Calexico, California, border crossing.


Officials say that on September 17, 2025, “the male driver of a tractor-trailer, pulling a car hauler,” entered the Calexico East Port of Entry Commercial Facility.

The driver told CBP that he was headed to Pomona, California, to collect vehicles for transport to Mexicali, Mexico.


Based on “initial observations,” the vehicle was referred for a secondary inspection.

A nonintrusive inspection using X-ray technology revealed anomalies within the car hauler.

“Leveraging advanced imaging technology, a positive K9 alert, and physical inspection techniques, officers uncovered 70 packages containing a white powdery substance concealed inside the trailer. A field test confirmed the substance was cocaine,” CBP said.


U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations was contacted to investigate the case, which was accepted for federal prosecution.

CBP seized the cocaine, the tractor and the car hauler.

The truck driver was taken into custody.


“The driver’s visa was canceled, and he now faces federal drug smuggling charges,” CBP said.

“This seizure highlights the dedication and vigilance of CBP officers in protecting our nation’s borders and preventing dangerous drugs from entering our communities,” said Calexico Port of Entry Director Roque Caza. “Our officers work tirelessly to disrupt criminal organizations and safeguard the public.”

This illegal alien from Colombia, Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano, was encountered by Border Patrol on June 26, 2023 after she illegally crossed the southern border. The Biden administration released her into the U.S.

Just last month, Galeano reportedly paid for smugglers to illegally bring her 17-year-old and 16-year-old children into U.S. via the southern border. Facilitating human smuggling is a crime.

On October 19, 2025, the two children, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, entered the U.S. illegally near El Paso, Texas. Customs and Border Protection apprehended the children, and they were processed as Unaccompanied Children and brought to a shelter in the Chicago area.

“ICE law enforcement did NOT target a Daycare. Officers attempted to conduct a targeted traffic stop of this female illegal alien from Colombia. Officers attempted to pull over this vehicle, which was registered to a female illegal alien, with sirens and emergency lights, but the male driver refused to pull the vehicle over. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle before the assailant sped into a shopping plaza where he and the female passenger fled the vehicle. They ran into a daycare and attempted to barricade themselves inside the daycare—recklessly endangering the children inside. The illegal alien female was arrested inside a vestibule, not in the school,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Upon arrest, she lied about her identity. The vehicle is registered in her name, though she claims that she didn’t know the man who was driving her car and just picked him up from a bus stop. Facts including criminality and information on the male assailant are forthcoming and we will update the public with more information as soon as it becomes available.”

FALSE CLAIM: DHS law enforcement targeted a school or daycare center in Chicago.  

THE FACTS: ICE targeted an illegal alien, Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano, from Colombia, and attempted to pull her vehicle over as it was being driven by another individual and Galeano was in the passenger seat. The driver ignored law enforcement emergency lights and sirens and both of the illegal aliens fled the vehicle, attempting to barricade themselves inside of the daycare center.

FALSE CLAIM: ICE made an arrest inside a daycare center in Chicago.

THE FACTS: The male passenger barricaded himself inside the daycare center—recklessly endangering the children inside. However, Galeano could not enter through the second set of locked doors.

FALSE CLAIM: ICE arrested the illegal alien in front of children.  

THE FACTS ICE did NOT arrest her in front of children.

FALSE CLAIM: ICE is not going after the ‘worst of the worst.’

THE FACTS: President Trump and Secretary Noem are restoring the rule of law in the U.S. and directing ICE to target criminal illegal aliens. More than 70% of all ICE arrests are of aliens with pending charges and convictions in the U.S.

FALSE CLAIM:  Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano was in the country legally with employment authorization.

THE FACTS: Work authorization does NOT confer any type of legal status to be in the U.S. The illegal alien's work authorization was approved by the Biden administration which exploited this loophole to help facilitate the invasion of our country.
