Steve Iles has visited his father at Christ Hospital almost daily since the 84-year-old man was shot in his East Price Hill home on Halloween, when three young men tried to rob him of the dimes he was giving trick-or-treaters.

It doesn't look as if Mr. Iles will ever see his home again.

The cost of his medical treatment must be in the millions of dollars already.

CINCINNATI -- A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in the shooting of an elderly man at his home on Halloween.

Charles Iles, 84, was shot twice and is now living in a nursing home.

Investigators said Otis Clark and two other teens barged into Iles's Price Hill home and demanded money after his wife told them trick-or-treating was over and tried to close the door.

Police think they were drawn to the house because word got out that the couple had given out dimes instead of candy.

Deondrae Berryman, 17, already has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and sentencing
for 17-year-old Terrance Davis is pending.

Clark was convicted of attempted murder, aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
