Beating Suspect Becomes Beating Victim
One of four suspects in the highly-publicized beating of a Shreveport cab driver has, himself, become a beating victim.
"It fractured my jawbone in two different spots," said Jermoxers Mitchell, 19.
The attack reportedly took place Wednesday morning inside the Caddo Correctional Center as Mitchell was about to be released.
"People just bumrushed and I also got hit in the head with a chair, I guess."
Mitchell had spent nearly two months in custody on charges related to the April attack on Shreveport cab dr
ver Allen Beasley.
Earlier this week, he entered into a plea bargain, accepting two years' probation in exchange for pleading guilty to a charge of simple battery.
But although Mitc
hell is free, his jaw will remain behind bars-- wired shut as a result
of the beating.
"I don't know why that happened," said Jimmy Sabbath, Mitchell's father.
"I don't know, was it behind that taxi cab situation?"
Sabbath said better supervision at the jail could've prevented his son's injury.
"I can't see how three guys could jump him with deputies being there. He should've been escorted out by a deputy."
But the jail's assistant commander, Chad Coleman, said no escort was necessary.
He said the beating took place while Mitchell was still inside a common area of the jail, where deputies watch over inmates.
"When you're dealing with people, you can't prevent everything but what we can hav
e is reaction," said Coleman.
And that reaction, according to Coleman, came within seconds.
Deputies arrested the three inmates-- Gatson Craig... Willie Lee Baker and Joseph Kenne
dy,
Jr.
Ironically, Kennedy is also a suspect in a highly-publicized murder case.
He's accused of taking part in a gun battle last August that killed
Lottie Myers, 75.
A stray bullet pierced the wall of Myers' home, killing her as she slept on the couch.

I wish they would have beat that n-gger to death. A broken jaw isn't good enough.
