A Minneapolis man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting three women.
Anthony W. Cannon, 40, allegedly raped a developmentally delayed woman, an 89-year-old and a juvenile in three separate incidents, according to a complaint filed in Hennepin County District
Court.
Minneapolis police Capt. Rich Stanek said it appears Cannon did not know his alleged victims.
In each case -- two occurred last December and one this April -- Cannon forced the victim to take a shower and then sexually assaulted her, the complaint said. On two occasio
ns in December he forced his way into the victims' homes and also took money, according to court documents. The other incident took place at his apartment.
Cannon allegedly used physical intimidation to control the victims but did not have a weapon, Stanek said.
Cannon left behind a ring in a 2004 incident that linked him via DNA to the other cases, Stanek said.
Cannon is charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of first-degree burglary. Police are not sure if he is linked to other cases but are investigating the possibility.
