NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a woman at a gas station.

An arrest warrant was issued for Willie Robertson, 39. The robbery happened May 4 just before 11:30
.m. at 1425 South Claiborne Ave.

According to investigators, a 20-year-old Gretna woman stopped the local service station to make a purchase. As she was walking back to her car, she was approached by

an who implied he had handgun and demanded money. When the woman refused, the suspect allegedly struck her in the fa
ce. The woman then turned over cash to the man and he fled on foot.

A follow-up investigation by 6th District Detective Enchante Franklin positively identified Robertson as the person responsible.

Crimestoppers, at (504) 822-1111, is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to Robertson's arrest and indictment. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court.

Man Pleads Guilty To Impersonating Cop, Attempted Assault On Teen

GRAHAM, N.C. -- A Burlington man was sentenced to at least six years in prison for impersonating a police officer, telling a teenage girl to get in his car and attempting to rape her.

Ismael Rodriguez Cruz, 26, pleaded guilty in Superior Court Monday to seven charges, including first-degree kidnapping, attempted second-degree rape, impersonating an officer and resisting an officer. Cruz was sentenced to 73 to 97 months.

A prosecutor said the 16-year-old victim and her boyfriend b
rrowed a car from a friend and left a skating rink on the night of Feb. 8, said Assistant District Attorney Anand Ramaswamy.

Cruz told the couple that he would arrest the girl and call her parents

if she did not come with him, Ramaswamy said. He then drove th
e girl to a parking lot on Texas Avenue and assaulted her.

After sentencing, Ramaswamy said Cruz is an illegal alien and will be deported after he serves his time. Defense attorney Robert Sharpe did not address the judge during sentencing.
