Police continue search for armed man
The perimeter in Shawnee has been lifted, but law enforcement officers are going to continue their search for the man, who has been identified as Brice Winrow.
Officials said officers received reports around 4:16 p.m. Sunday that a man was driving recklessly on Highway 177 near Macarthur Street. Officers responded and pursued a stolen vehicle with two occupants.
The driver was identified as Winrow, 32. He crashed the vehicle west of Kickapoo and 39th streets and ran away. Winrow was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and a red and black hat.
Officials said Winrow was going to be arraigned soon for reportedly stealing a car.
Officers made contact with the second person, a woman who they said is a possible victim.
