A 74-year-old woman was found murdered — with her hands and feet tied — inside her Upper West Side apartment when her sister came to check on her this week, cops said Friday.
Maria Hernandez was discovered unconscious and unresponsive inside her third-floor apartment on West 83rd Street near Columbus Avenue when cops responded at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Hernandez, whose hands and feet were bound, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, authorities said.
Hernandez’s concerned sister — who showed up at the apartment after she hadn’t heard from her in a while — was the first to find her body and called 911, cops said.
No suspects were immediately identified.
The NYPD confirmed Friday that Hernandez’s death was ruled a homicide, but could not immediately say how she was killed.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, cops said.
