A 26-year-old Memphis man was charged Monday with the armed robbery of a Nextel retail store, one of five robbed in the last two months.

On April 28, Marchisco Morton entered the store at 4759 Poplar and demanded specific cell phone models, police said. He walked away with about
$4,000 worth.

He is charged with aggravated robbery.

Morton is the brother of University of Memphis basketball player Clyde Wade, in federal court this week for an unrel
ated c
ase.

Witnesses said Morton came in the store wearing a Grizzlies ball cap and pulled his T-shirt over his face, saying he had sinus problems, according to a police incident report.

He walked around the counter, cocked
his gun and said, "You know what this is," police reports said.

He took 10 Motorola NASCAR flip phones, valued at $399 each, and went out the back door, police said.

He told witnesses his "partner will be back to finish the job," the report said.

Investigators received tips that Morton might be responsible. Witnesses identified him in a lineup.

The phones were being shipped out of state, police said.
