Raleigh Woman Chased, Killed In Domestic Dispute

RALEIGH, N.C. -- When authorities were called to Wynewood Drive in Raleigh, they thought they were dealing with a car accident, but that quickly changed.

Dujuana Stallings Massenburg, 34, was found beaten to death in her van following a chase through the Berkshire Downs West subdivision, off Perry Creek Road, police said.

The woman's van and the car driven by Michael Massenburg, 38, her suspected assailant, ended up in the yards of two homes on Wynnewood Drive, police said.

Witnesses said they saw Massenburg trying to force Dujuana's car off the road.

police, Michael Massenburg got out of his car after the chase ended, attacked Dujuana and beat her to death with h

Michael Massenburg was taken into custody, but no charges have been filed.

Officers are still gathering information about the incident and collecting evidence. They
said the Massenburgs
were married at one time, but it is not clear what their current marital status is.

Sheriff: Murder Suspect Too Dangerous for Jail

The man who police say used his bare hands to kill his estranged wife is now at Central Prison in Raleigh after he allegedly tried to take an officer's gun.

Deputies say Michael Massenburg is too dangerous to stay at the Wake County Jail in Raleigh. Sheriff Donnie Harrison filed a "safekeeping request" to move the murder suspect to the state's prison on Western Boulevard.

In his request, Harrison wrote that Massenburg "has been aggressive toward officers" and "attempted to obtain an officer's gun." He also warns of
ficers
at Central Prison to "watch for suicidal tendencies."

Massenburg is charged with killing his wife Dujuana early Monday after a car chase through north Raleigh.
