Cops have sketch of assault suspect

TRENTON - Trenton police yesterday issued a composite sketch of the suspect who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a 12-year-old girl in Cadwalader Park on Thursday afternoon.

The girl was approached from behind by the attacker at about 3:20 p.m. as she walking through the park, police said. The assailant forced the girl to a secluded area and forcibly removed her clothes. The victim struggled and bit the assailant's ear, distracting him long enough to escape.

The suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, approximately 23 years old, wearing a yellow button-down shirt and blue jeans. He is said to have a thin face, light facial hair, a goatee and a thin nose, as well as an injured ear, police said.

night while walking, such as bei
ng accompanied by friends, avoiding conversations with strangers and being aware of their surroundings.

Anyone who encounters someone matching the description of the suspect should immediately walk away and contact police for assistance, police said.

"This investigation is top priority, to identify this individual and have him removed from our streets," said Police Director Joseph Santiago.
