Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend's 6-Year-Old Son Goes to Trial Monday

The trial of a man accused of killing his girlfriend`s son and putting the body in an oven is scheduled to begin Monday. 28-year-old Kenneth Pierott is accused of killing his girlfriend's six-year-old son and placing the child's body in an oven.

The trial will take place in Bexar County near San Antonio. The venue was changed in April after Pierott`s lawyers successfully argued that it would be impossible to find an impartial jury in Jefferson County due to extensive local media coverage.

Many continue to question why the accused child killer was released back into society after he pleaded "not guilty by reason of insanity" for
the 1996 brutal death of his younger sister. After his plea, Kenneth Lee Pierott Jr. was admitted into a mental hospital where he was released after a short stay.

Last April, Pierott`s family let only KBTV-4 News view the release papers from the mental hospital where Pierott was treated. The report says Kenneth was diagnosed with a "psychotic disorder." Pierott`s mother says that sho
uld have been reason enough to keep him in the hospital to continue his treatments-- instead he was released after spending only two months there.

The report says his condition at the time of his release was "stable". It goes on to say "you (Kenneth Pierott) are encouraged to continue taking medication as prescribed." Urestine Pierott says her son tried to continue his treatment after his release, but he was only referred to one doctor; and that doctor refused to properly treat him. Urestine says the system failed her son.

Beaumont man accused in death of child found in oven set for trial

BEAUONT, Texas (AP) - Two psychiatrists plan to testify that Kenneth Pierott was insane when he smothered his girlfriend's 6-year-old son and tried to cremate the body in an oven at the behest of voices in his head, according to court documents.

The murder trial - moved from Beaumont to San Antonio because of intense media scrutiny in southeast Texas - comes as Texas legislators consider reforms to the state's insanity standard.

Pierott was charged with murder in April 2004 after 6-year-old Tre-Devin Odoms' body was found in the oven at his mother's Beaumont house. The gas was on, but the p
ilot light wasn't lit so the oven did not heat. An autopsy revealed the boy was smot
hered.

Pierott was found innocent by reason of insanity in the 1996 fatal beating of his sister, who suffered from cerebral palsy.

Stephanie Pierott, 25, weighed only 43 pounds. Pierott beat her with a dumbbell so severely that he displaced her eyeballs and crushed her skull.

Pierott spent about four months in a state mental hospital in 1998 before he was released and returned to Jefferson County.

Less than five years after his release, Pierott killed again. He had stopped taking his medication because "he felt better when he was not on medication," wrote Dr. Edward Gripon, one of two court-appointed experts who visited with Pierott five times before determining he was insane when he killed Kathy Odoms' 6-year-old son.

"He felt that he had special p
owers and that he either was God or had special powers provided by God," Gripon wrote about the Odoms case. "He felt that there was an adult living in a child's body and
that he did not think the child was actually dead, and therefore, he did not think that what he had done was actually wrong."

The other court-appointed expert in Pierott's case, Dr. Seth Silverman, reported to state District Judge Layne Walker that Pierott suffers from chronic paranoid schizophrenia and has a long history of alcohol and drug use.

Silverman said Pierott's mother and brother told him Pierott lost 20 pounds in the weeks before the 6-year-old was smothered, stopped sleeping, became preoccupied with the Bible and stated repeatedly he was God.

"'He was the devil, just like my sister,"' Pierott told Silverman, referring to the 6-year-old. "'I think that everything I chose to do would come through for the good."'

PS- If you boil the niglet for 30 minutes first, I think the niglet is more tender after baking, somewhat like cooking a bagel.
 
I don't know if Chef Pierott will ever be able to break from his busy schedule to cook some J*ws, but you're absolutely correct WD - there's a LOT of room in that oven of his!

Microsoft Employee Accused Of Trolling Internet For Sex

PIERCE COUNTY - There are stunning accusations against a Microsoft employee.

Tacoma police say Karun Kandoi was surfing Internet chat rooms from his Microsoft computer, looking for sex with underage girls.

Tacoma Police nabbed Kandoi, 27, after a seven-week undercover investigation.

A detective posing as a 13-year-old girl named Rachael began chatting online with Kandoi in early April.

Investigators say Kandoi conducted the majority of his chats from his desk at Microsoft. They say it didn't take long for him to focus on sex.

"There was obvious acts that he was hoping would occur between himself and t
he child," said Tracy Conaway with the Tacoma Police Department.

Kandoi allegedly told the
fictitious 13-year-old they could "have oral sex and fondling." He told her he could "teach her all the things."

Police say the suspect also told Rachael he owned a car that had "enough room to make out."

Investigators say Kandoi set up a meeting with the teen at a Tacoma restaurant.

"The suspect did show up obviously assuming he'd be meeting up with this female and then he was taken in to custody," said Conaway.

Kandoi denies the charges, but police say shortly after his arrest he admitted he was meeting the girl for sex.

As Tacoma detectives searched Kandoi's Microsoft computer for evidence, the software giant refused comment on the case or Kandoi's status.

A spokeswoman did say "Microsoft takes all behavior that undermines our ethics and integrity seriously."

Police say it's ironic a
Microsoft employee would be accused of such a crime, since Bill Gates himself vowed to fight Internet predators.

Microsoft developed the Child Exploitation Tracking System that helps pol
ice all over the world share information on Internet predators.

Kandoi is keeping quiet, but police say they wonder how this computer savvy man walked so easily into their trap.

Teens Robbed After Pulling Over To Help Man

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A group of teenagers got a scare after stopping to help a man in the middle of an Overland Park street, KMBC's Emily Aylward reported.

The three teenagers pulled over Saturday night at 121st and Goodman streets when they saw a man waving his arms. Then, the man pulled out a gun, got into the car and robbed the teens, police said.

"When he got all these, he gave them back the keys and said, 'Don't look at me,' and he took off," said Jim Weaver, with Overland Park police.

No one was injured, but officers sai
d there is a safer way to deal with a motorist who appears to be in distress.

"You're prob
ably better off, when you see something like that, to go ahead and call police and say the person may need help, but don't put yourself in danger," Weaver said.

Police canvassed the area, but no arrests have been made. The robber was described as a heavyset black man wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a red cap. He was wearing black gloves and was carrying a dark handgun.
