Police: Teen Back at Home After Being Found at Home of Convicted Sex Offender

A Virginia Beach teen is safely back at home after police say they found him in a convicted sex offender's home over the weekend.

Henry Nix of Williamsburg is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say they found the 17-year old in Nix's bathroom on Sunday. They say the teen had been drinking alcohol.

The teen's aunt and uncle have custody of him because of his troubled family background. His aunt told WAVY News 10 when they realized he was missing, they did everything to get him back - including tracking down the cell pho
ne number of the man who had him - 41-year old Nix.

The aunt says her nephew told her he met Nix through
acquaintances in Williamsburg and kept in touch through the internet.

Nix was convicted of forcible sodomy in 1990 in Virginia Beach and is registered on the state's website for violent sex offenders.

The teen's aunt says she's grateful they were able to find him in one day. But the fact that he ended up in another city with Nix frightens her.

James City County police are still investigating. They're working to find out if Nix is banned from having contact with minors because of his earlier conviction.

Right now, Nix is out of jail on bond.
