A 16-year-old Klamath Falls girl may stand trial as an adult for charges of rape and sodomy.
Authorities say they believe that she helped as many as three rapists find victims, getting methamphetamine in exchange.
One man has been arrested on rape charges, and deputies say they have two other suspects in two similar assaults.
On Wednesday, the Klamath County district attorney's office na
med Tangina Elizabeth Tubbs a co-defendant with Tracy Lamont Matthews, 40, also of Klamath Falls.
Tubbs was arrested
July 20, and accused of holding down a 17-year-old girl while Matthews raped her. Tubbs turned 16 in late July.
She is charged with first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape and causing a person to ingest controlled substances.
She was arraigned Wednesday on the sodomy and rape charges. Those offenses are covered by Measure 11, which extends the adult legal system to youths between the ages of 15 and 17 on certain charges, Chief Deputy District Attorney David Groff said.
A grand jury will hear the case and decide which charges will move forward sometime in the next week.
The district attorney's office doesn't have automatic jurisdiction from Measure 11 on the controlled substance charge, Groff said. That charge will stay in juvenile court for the time being.
