CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two men have been arrested after police say they were involved in a series of armed robberies on Thursday night.

Police charged 24-year-old Jakiel Cunningham and 23-year-old Dominique Moffett after they were connected to the four robberies.

According to officers, the spree started on Thursday night around 9:08 p.m. when the pair robbed a man along the 1400-block of Sharon Road West.

The victim told police one of the men hit him in the head with a gun before they ran away.

The pair then robbed two more men about 30 minutes later along the 100-block of New Bern Street, police say.

One man told police he was getting out of his vehicle when the pair robbed him. The victim ran away from the men after giving them what they asked for.

Another man nearby was then robbed by the pair, according to police. Officers say one of the men attacked the man and then fired a shot into the man's vehicle.

They got into a silver Nissan Murano, but police say the man was able to get the tag information off the vehicle.

An hour later, police received a fourth call saying that a man along the 7000-block of Albemarle Road. He told police he'd given a man a ride in exchange for money, but when they got there the man robbed him.

Officers then found the silver Murano and found the men inside with a gun. They were arrested and taken to police headquarters and were both charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Moffett was also charged with possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

Older Men With Guns Rob Pharmacy, Make Off With Viagra, Other Drugs
July 28, 2014 6:19 PM

(CBS) -- In broad daylight, two older men armed with guns held up a medical clinic on the West Side and made off with hundreds of dollars’ worth of Viagra and other drugs.

CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker reports from Chicago’s Austin community.

Causing little attention, two men entered a West Side medical center Saturday on the pretense of wanting to see the dentist. But as soon an employee opened the door of the office, he was met with two bandits brandishing a semi-automatic and a handgun. They told him to put up his hands and get on his knees.

Minutes later, the robbers started filling a box with drugs. They took 56 Viagra pills worth $1,700. They also took Xanex, a muscle relaxant; Norco, a pain killer and codeine-laced cough syrup, valued at $400.

Employees say the men, both in their late-50s, seemed a little nervous as they moved around the office but gave no indication they would shoot anyone.

They had no visible tattoos, but one was wearing Tasmanian Devil T-shirt and the other a green band that looked like a medical bracelet. Before leaving, they grabbed a $1,500 laptop, $65 in cash from an employee’s wallet and made sure they had all the Viagra.

The owners of the pharmacy said the men gave no indication if they would use the Viagra themselves or sell it on the street for a profit.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police have released a composite sketch of a man who robbed a teenager and stole his trombone.

Police said a man on July 31 at 7 p.m. used a gun to rob a young musician from Edna Karr High School on the 4900 block of Berkley Drive.

Man Kidnapped Sleeping Elderly Woman: Police
Friday, Aug 22, 2014 • Updated at 1:58 PM EDT

A man has been jailed on charges he rousted an 82-year-old woman who was sleeping in her southwestern Pennsylvania home and forced her to drive him to two bank branches where he could withdraw money from her accounts.

Somerset police say 26-year-old William Thompson II, of Somerset, used a BB-pistol to awaken and force the victim to accompany him about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the ordeal lasted about 90 minutes and that the woman didn't realize the gun wasn't loaded with bullets.

Police say Thompson is suspected in another attempted robbery about seven hours earlier in which the victim -- an 82-year-old man -- fought off the robber by wielding a stool.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Thompson, who remained in the Somerset County Jail unable to post $500,000 bond.

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police said a man jumped into the passenger seat of a parked car Friday morning and told the driver he had a gun and then ordered him to drive.

“This is about 12:30 this morning, 500 west 200 south,” said Detective Dennis McGowan with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Police said the victim was in his car, parked outside the North Gate Apartments in downtown Salt Lake City.

“He was on his cell phone, it’s dark, this is kind of a tough part of town, and another man pulled open the passenger side door and hopped into the car,” McGowan said.

The suspect then told the victim to drive.

“In the process of driving away, he demanded money from the victim and indicated he had a hand gun in his pocket,” McGowan said.

And when the driver said he had no money, the suspect told him to go into a 7-Eleven and withdraw a significant amount of cash from the ATM.

The two were on their way back to where they had initially linked up when the victim spotted police lights at a traffic stop near 400 south and 200 west.

“He came up to a screeching halt in back of the police cars, jumped out shouting at the police to help him, trying to tell him what was going on, so they reacted and got the suspect into custody immediately while they continued the investigation,” McGowan said.

Damon Greenberry was booked for robbery, kidnapping, drug paraphernalia and three outstanding warrants. And those who live in the apartment complexes where the incident initiated say they’re not surprised.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, officers arrested Darian Owens, 25; Precious Carroll, 24; and Tevin Owens, 21.

Police said the three were arrested after officers responded to an armed robbery at a business in the 7100 block of West Craig Road. Metro used patrol and air units to identify and locate the vehicle involved in the holdup.

Police did not specify whether the Aug. 20 early morning holdup at a Smith's gaming area in west Las Vegas was among the robberies including in the crime spree.

Police said each suspect was booked into Clark County Detention Center on counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit burglary.
