Toddler Takes Gun from Daycare
April 26, 2005 ”” A three-year-old girl in New Orleans brought a dangerous surprise home from daycare.
Nicole Thomas was going through her daughter Jamyra's backpack and found a loaded 9 millimeter gun. Police went to the Happy Kids Daycare Center and arrested the little girl's teacher.
She admitted to bringing the gun to work and leaving it in her purse inside a closet. It's still not clear how it got from her purse into Jamyra's backpack.
The little girl's family is relieved that no one was hurt. The teacher faces various weapons offenses.
