COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police announced Friday that they made two arrests in connection with a recent string of German Village home invasions.

In the past two months, there have been three break

-ins in which victims were stripped, tied up and robbed, NBC 4 reported.

The first robbery
occurred on Sept. 27 on South Fifth Street at about 7:40 a.m. The second occurred at a home on Seibert Street on Oct. 10 at 6 a.m. The third home invasion took place at about 7:15 a.m. on Jaeger Street.

Police said the robbers took cash, credit cards, vehicles, electronics and jewelry in each robbery.

Marquis Hairston, 24, was arrested Thursday night and charged with one counts of receiving stolen property and one count of aggravated robbery. Police said Hairston admitted to being involved in the robberies, NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported.

His half-brother, Louis Hairston, 19, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with one count of receiving stolen property.

Investigators are searching for a third person who may have been involved in the home inva

Police said the break in the case came after a victim took a trip to an area pawn shop, looking for his stolen items.

"We were able to go back, pull the pawn ticket, which belonged to Mr. Marquis Hairst
on, and investigators essentially worked backwards," said Cmdr. Michael Springer, of Columbus police.

Officials said additional charges may be filed against Marquis Hairston, because he was out on parole in connection with another robbery.

NBC 4 spoke with one of the victims, who said that police notified her of Thursday's arrest Friday morning.

"The detectives came over this morning and told me that there was someone in custody ... and they were looking at a few other people that were possible suspects as well," said Melanie Pinkerton, a victim.

A Philadelphia philanthropist offered bounties of $10,000 in late October on information leading to the arrest of each person involved in the burglaries.

Third Man Arrested In German Village Home Invasions

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A third man was arrested late Friday in connection with a rash of home invasions in the German Village area.

Jovaughny Hairston was taken into custody hours after his cousins, Louis Hairston and Marquis Allen Hairston, were arrested early on Friday, NBC 4 reported.

The three waived their appearance Saturday during their scheduled arraignment.

The home invasions started in September and left victims stripped of

their personal belongings, their cars and their clothes, NBC 4's Beth Dal Ponte reported.

"It just makes a lot of us down
here sleep earlier," victim Melanie Pinkerton said on Friday night. "A lot of people have been concerned in the community. They can sleep better tonight."

The three men were charged with at least one count of aggravated robbery, Dal Ponte reported.

Their combined bond was set at over $2 million.

Trio Charged In Portsmouth Robberies

The three subhumans charged in a series of home invasions in German Village are now facing attempted murder charges.

Wednesday, a grand jury in Portsmouth indicted half-brothers Marquis and Louis Hairston and their cousin Jovaugny Hairston in a case that could send them to prison for 75 years.

The threesome is (sic) accused of breaking into an elderly couple's home and shooting them. The husband was shot twice and the wife was shot five times.

outh. Police there say the two were forced to strip naked and tied to chairs. When they apparently resisted, they were shot.

Both

survived, so the charges against the Hairstons include attempted aggravated murder.

The three were arrested here in Columbus in November and charged with three brutal home invasions in German Village.

People were stripped and tied up in these homes as well, but nothing was as violent as what the Melchers went through in Portsmouth.

The Hairstons are now in the Franklin County jail awaiting trial in the German Village cases, but the Scioto County prosecutor says sometime this month, they will be transported to Portsmouth to face a judge there.
