The sixth suspect wanted in connection with a May 28 dispute that ended with shots being fired at two different locations has been arrested.

The incident began between 4 and 5 p.m. on Fitch Drive in Mebane. Alamance County deputies were called to the site to stop an alleged fight between Anthony Dwain Covington, 19, and a group of men including Monroe Leath, 28; Thomas Richmond Jr., 25; and Ernest Richmond Jr., 25. Police said the fight was over a woman.

By 5:30 p.m. Burlington police were called to 751 Kennedy Court, Burlington to deal with someone shooting a gun. In that instance, Covington allegedly fired a
shotgun in the air three to four times then left the area.

City authorities were called again at 7:30 p.m. to the intersection of Morningside Drive and St. John Street to handle a report of gunshots. When officers arrived, Covington's vehicle had been shot at three to four times with a .380-caliber weapon.

Police allege that Tyrone M. Jones, 25, and O'Brian Gwynn, 23, were involved, as well as Leath, Thomas Richmond and Ernest Richmond. Covington's car was struck two times.

All but one of the suspects had been arrested on assault charged by Friday. On Saturday, Jones was arrested and charged with discharging a weapon into a moving car. His bond was set at $5,000. His first appearance will be Monday.
