Police Find 17 Pitbulls in a Moving Van
September 14, 2007 - Investigators seized 17 pit bull dogs from a van in Oxford Circle late Friday afternoon.
The discovery was made in the 800 block of Sanger Street just before 5:00 p.m.
Police said a moving van had broken down, and when officers arrived on the scene they found the dogs inside the van.
Investigators said the people in the moving van had been evicted from a home at 913 Granite Street.
Neighbors on Granite said they had complained in the past about the smell of the dogs.
Police arrested a 52-year-old sheboon on animal cruelty charges. Her name was not immediately released.
