A Rocky Point High School graduate was shot to death early in the morning on April 28 in Clarksville, Tenn., according to Clarksville Police Detective Mike Ulrey.

A passerby discovered Taylor Hotzoglou, 22, in his car and believed him to be the victim of a traffic accident. But police found bullet wounds and classified the case as a homicide.

"We're following several leads at this time," Ulrey said in a phone interview Tuesday.

Ulrey said Hotzoglou, who graduated from Rocky Point in 2007, was last seen outside his home being approached by two black males who asked him for a ride. Hotzoglou agreed and was not seen alive again.

"Initial assumption is we don't believe he knew them," Ulrey said. He declined to name the witness who saw Hotzoglou with the two men.

A friend of Hoztoglou, Caroline Cardinale, said, "He was always the one making people laugh and smile because he had such a great sense of humor." In an email, she called him nice and loyal and said he enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with his friends. Cardinale said he was also close with his three brothers.

Hotzoglou enlisted in the military in 2009, Cardinale said, and was a member of the Army's 101st Airborne Division. At the time of his death, he was living on the Fort Campbell base in Clarksville.

"Taylor meant so much to me, he was always there for me since we were little and he always kept his promises and never let me down ever," Cardinale said. "He always knew how to make me happy when I was having the worst day. He was so loyal and trustworthy and all the things that I've known about him and learned from him will help me to never forget him. He will be loved and missed by everyone."

Family and friends have flooded the young man's Facebook page since his death on April 28.

"I can't believe this happens to such great people," wrote one friend on the page. "You were one of my best friends…I'm going to miss you man, but I know you're still watching over me."

Another friend wrote "RIP Taylor, they will find whoever did this to you. I will never forget you."

Ulrey said the investigation is ongoing.

There seems to be a deliberate attempt not to publish a photo of Rakeem Rashan Jones. Nigger Jones may have been 17 at the time he ended Taylor Hotzoglou's life, but the nigger is 18 now and I want to know what this muddafugga looks like, knowha'm'say'n.

He gave them a ride? I mean what could go wrong?

v

He would have been better off to give a ride to two muslim enemies over in Iraq than to two feral apemen. Don't soldiers today recognize danger when it is right in front of them? Two unknown niggers want a ride, wtf?? Maybe he was too scared to say no, I don't know. Just never a good idea to let a nigger into your car, especially two niggers!!!

You are absolutely right. 0bama's army must be in pretty bad shape for this to even happen.

Trial Begins For 2 Charged In Soldier's Death

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The trial has begun for two Tennessee men charged with killing a Fort Campbell soldier who was giving them a ride home.

Jurors were selected on Monday and opening statements were scheduled Tuesday in the trial of 19-year-old Giovanne Treymane Johnson and 18-year-old Rakeem Rashan Jones.

The two men were charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and especially aggravated robbery in the death of 22-year-old Specialist Taylor Hotzoglou.

The soldier was shot multiple times on April 28, 2012 in Clarksville, after giving the two teenagers a ride.

The original call out to police was a possible crash with injuries. Just after midnight, a passerby stopped and called police after finding a car that looked like it had run off the side of Victory Road. The passerby called police after he said he could not wake up the man inside the car.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found that Hotzoglou had been shot.

Hotzoglou had recently returned from Afghanistan. His wife said she could not believe he was killed by the people he was serving while overseas. The Army said he was assigned to D Company, 2-506th, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

"He spent 12 months dodging bullets and to come home and get killed over something aimless it's just not fair," said Kerri Hotzoglou.

The trial was expected to last up to four days.

What happened to the 2 niggers?

State of Tennessee v. Rakeem Rashan Jones and Giovoanne Tremane Johnson

https://www.tncourts.gov/courts/cou.../15/state-tennessee-v-rakeem-rashan-jones-and
Case Number

M2015-00515-CCA-R3-CD

In a joint trial, Defendants Giovoanne Treymane Johnson and Rakeem Rashan Jones were convicted of first degree felony murder, second degree murder, and especially aggravated robbery. As to each, the trial court merged the second degree murder conviction into the felony murder conviction and imposed a sentence of life imprisonment. As to the convictions for especially aggravated robbery, each defendant was sentenced to twenty-five years, with the sentences to be served consecutively to the sentence for the felony murder conviction. On appeal, Defendant Jones argues that (1) the trial court erred in denying his motion to sever the defendants for trial; (2) the evidence is insufficient to sustain the convictions; (3) the trial court erred both in the length and manner of service of the sentences; and (4) the court erred in denying his motion for mistrial. Defendant Johnson argues on appeal that the evidence is insufficient to sustain the convictions and that the trial court erred in ordering that the sentences be served consecutively. Following our review, we affirm the judgments of the trial court.

State of Tennessee v. Rakeem Rashan Jones and Giovoanne Tremane Johnson

Steven Butterman testified that on April 28, 2012, he was an E-4 Specialist with the United States Army andstationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and shared an apartment in Clarksville with the victim. At approximately 10:30 p.m. that evening, the two were in their apartment, when two men, whom they did not know, knocked on their door and asked to use their telephone.Mr. Butterman identified the defendants as the men who came to the door.He said the specific request was made by Defendant Johnson, who was given a cell phone by the victim and, apparently, dialed some numbers, although a call was not completed. After Defendant Johnson told the victim that they wanted to go to a Mini Mart store, the victim offered to drive them there. The victim returned inside the apartment to retrieve his keys, and Mr. Butterworth followed him because he was suspicious of the defendants. For protection, he gave the victim a Walther PPK .380 pistol, a weapon which he identified at trial. He watched as the victim and the defendants got into the victim’s vehicle, with the victim driving, Defendant Johnson in the front passenger seat and Defendant Jones in the backseat. About forty-five minutes later, Mr. Butterman telephoned the victim’s cell phone but received no answer. Detective Ulrey knocked on their apartment door at around 3:00 a.m., and Mr. Butterman provided him with the original box ...
...
Cody Driver testified that he was acquainted with the defendants, both of whom he identified in the courtroom. He was with both men the evening of April 28, 2012, at his residence at 205 Mitchell Street in Clarksville. Around 10:00 p.m., the three went to the residence of Defendant Johnson, where he was “talking about hitting a lick, as in robbing somebody . . . ecause he needed some more money in his pocket.” Defendant Jones responded that “he was down with it.”Defendant Johnson then dressed all in black, with a black hoodie, do-rag, pants, and shoes.Defendant Jones put on a black shirt. Defendant Johnson got a gun out of the dresser, and the defendants left together on foot at approximately 11:00 p.m. and returned around midnight.Defendant Jones told Driver “he had shot somebody.”Defendant Jones had blood on him and used a towel to wipe it off. ...
