This chubby-cheeked young bride is the woman a lovesick hijacker wanted to win back when he threatened to blow up an EgyptAir flight this week.
Pictures of the couple on their wedding day in 1985 emerged Thursday, with a confident Seif Eldin Mustafa posing next to Marina Paraschou, who was 20 years old at the time.
They were married for five years, divorcing in 1990, and had four children together — three daughters and a son.
Paraschou, 51, who was mortified by her unemployed ex-husband’s crime, described their relationship as the “darkest chapter in my life.”
“It was a marriage of hell with threats, beatings, torture and fear,” she told the Greek newspaper Phileleftheros on Thursday.
Mustafa, 58, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including hijacking, kidnapping and threatening violence, for his stunt Tuesday, which grounded the Egyptian passenger plane. No one was injured.
