Pasikala, 39, had noticed the 13-year-old victim, who was known to him, at a Christchurch bus stop. He said he would take her to the bus exchange.
Instead, he drove her in a locked vehicle to a secluded area where she was raped and subjected to gross indignities.
He then took her back to town and gave her money.
Pasikala had argued that the girl propositioned him for money.
He originally denied having any contact with the girl but his DNA had been found, which he explained by saying she jumped on him while he was masturbating in the vehicle.
