Men Arrested for Drowning Dogs
(Aiken) - The Aiken County Sheriff's Office has arrested two 18-year-olds for drowning two dogs in an Aiken County pond.
Officers say the two, James Edwards and Eugene Edwards (both of Beech Island), drowned the dogs using cement blocks.
Both men are charged with cruelty to animals.
Investigators found the animals floating in the water on August 26th and later arrested the pair after questioning.
Cruelty to animals is a felony. A convic
tion carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of $5000.
Both men are free on bond from the Aiken County Detention
Center.
