DR/REP RON PAUL'S HB 443 CALLING USA TO GET OUT OF UN

Posted By: Ghost
Date: Saturday, 3 July 2004, 10:23 a.m.

Dr. Paul is calling for all Americans

to contact their congresscritter

(link below) to get out of UN.

Let's follow his led folks.

June 15, 2004

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan boldly withdrew the United States
from the United Nations Economic, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO) to the "glee of conservatives and despair of liberals,"
as long-time Reagan advisor Lyn Nofziger recalls in his 1992 book.

Mr. Nofziger continues, "UNESCO is one of those international o
ganizations
that always had one hand dipped in Uncle Sam's pocket while the other was shaking a fist in his face.

America's withdrawal was one of those little victories conservatives

won during the Reagan years...."

Unfortunately, in 2003, Congress approved more than $60 millio
n to undo President Reagan's work and began paying "dues"
to rejoin UNESCO.

The U.S. will continue to pay $60 million annually --
which is a whopping 25% of UNESCO's entire yearly budget --
and leave the other 190 "member states" to divide up the remainder.

UNESCO seeks to levy an unconstitutional "global tax"
for Internet use on U.S. citizens. </span>

UNESCO has already laid claim to 47 "United Nations biosphere preserves"
in the U.S. (more than 70 million acres) and bypasses congressional
authority to tell us how we must m
anage our own land.

UNESCO further undermines U.S. sovereignty by forcing the U.S.
to adhere to U.N. global policies and may even force unconstitutional
restraints on U.S. fre
edom
of the press.

UNESCO supports the "hate-America" global "cultural diversity" convention
and interferes in the education policies of its member countries to
control school curriculum and create "global citizens."

Even though Congress eventually ap
proved the $60 million in annual dues
to UNESCO, 145 members of the U.S. House voted on July 22, 2003
to withhold those funds.
So there is still a sizeable block of opposition to UNESCO in the U.S. House.

<span style=\'color:red\'>To build on that opposition,

Congressmen Ron Paul, Donald Manzullo,
Steve King and Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis, on June 3, 2004,

introduced H. Con. Res. 443 declaring that the U.S. should withdraw from
UNESCO.

Immediately, Representat
ives Roscoe Bartlett, Sam Johnson,
Jeff Flake and John Culberson signed on as cosponsors.
But we must have more.

Ask your U.S. representative to stand up for U.S. independenc
e
an
d send a strong signal to the promoters of global governance.

Please urge your representative to become a cosponsor of

H. Con. Res. 443 by going to

The Magnificent Dissenter
by Paul Gottfried
by Paul Gottfried

Reading Ron Paul's magnificent dissent from House Resolution 676 and its intended celebration of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 shows the kind of reeducation (in the good sense) that we on the non-Left have to undertake to combat the managerial therapeutic regime. Contrary to the recent happy talk from paleos, the neocon establishment is not collapsing; nor are the liberal media running to replace customary neocon discussion partners with those on the
ight who share their opposition to the Iraqi adventure. The liberals and the neocons are bound together in their dedication to social engineering, the politics of entitlement, and the welfare state. Ron Paul

and Tom DiLorenzo will not likely soon replace David Bro
oks at the New York Times. And even were we ten years younger, it is doubtful that Harvard or Berkeley would offer Claes Ryn or me a chair in political theory, no matter how many books we produced, on the basis of our misgivings about American imperialism. Agreeing with the left on the folly of the foreign policy advocated by Wolfowitz and Krauthammer will not suffice to change the real Right's status. What must be done, to borrow Lenin's lapidary phrase, is counter the sheer mendacity of the prevalent liberal-neocon interpretation of recent American history. Like Congressman Paul, we have to call attention to the misrepresented bad turns that we have taken in government and to the equal complicity of both national parties in the process discussed. <
br>
Let us not forget that the Republican Party contributed the political numbers to pass the act now being celebrated. Over 90% of the Republicans then in Congress, but far, far fewer Democrats,
supp
orted the Civil Rights bill. The reward that Jack Ke
mp'Republicans earned for such contortions in reaching-out as affirmative action, the Civil Rights Act, and signing on to the MLK adoration bill has been the burning hatred of black voters and black politicians. The black minority persists in identifying Republicans with the Ku Klux Klan, a tendency that grows more obvious the more often and the more loudly the GOP tries to atone for not having reached out far enough. Never has poetic justice been more fully deserved!

Another point that needs making is that lies about the recent past can be harmful. It is one thing to confuse the course of events in the Persian Wars or the location of the battle where the Thebans ended Sparta's hegemony over Greece. Altogether different is to imagine that a "
civil rights" act passed in 1964 established "freedom" for all American citizens, when its long-range impact was entirely different. Congressman Paul is correct to let us know
that the
re was no incompatibility between the Civil Rights Act and the en
suing reign of judicial and administrative activists. One set the stage for the other. The creation of a far-reaching federal agency to judge discriminatory intentions led seamlessly into quotas and "recruitment," and the fact that women were included among the objects of discrimination made it possible for the feds and their myrmidons at the state-level to extend their surveillance beyond black-white relations.

Note that Fox talking-head Sean Hannity, in his latest bestseller Let Freedom Ring, glories in the fact that American Republicans were instrumental in giving Americans both the 1964 Civil Rights Act and a proper appreciation of the moral genius of Martin Luther King. In Hannity's simplistic mind, Republican equals "cons
ervative," which can also translate as "neoconservative." The question posed by Congressman Paul, who represents the classical liberal constitutionalist tradition of Ro
bert Taft, i
s whether Americans should be celebrating the hemorrhaging of constitutional liberties or th
e opportunity for reckless intervention by the federal bureaucracy in social and commercial relations. Paul is speaking as a true classical liberal ' in contrast to Mr. Hannity, who seems to confuse "conservative" with social democratic activism carried out by Republican politicians or enabling acts passed for government bureaucrats with Republican votes. For those who haven't noticed: "Conservatives" inside and outside of Congress as well as Hannity, whose notion of a good thing is the bureaucratically managed Civil Rights Revolution, stand well to the left of liberals like Ron Paul.

We have been given very little time to send messages to Congress in support of these two crucial amendments, so your immediate attention is critical.

July 7, 2004

Early this evening, Congressman Ron Paul will attempt to stop the United States' funding of the United Nations (UN) and the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) by offering two amendments to Departments of Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (H.R. 4754).

We have been given very little time to send message
to Congress in support of these two crucial amendments, so your immediate attention is critical.

"Subsidizing Enemies of Freedom" and "Reagan Was Right On UNESCO" are two letters

Congressman Paul is sending even now to his House colleagues asking for their support. You can read those letters by going to
http://www.thelibertycommittee.org/ununescoletters.htm

Now, just a few days after Independence Day, is the time for the United States to declare its independence from the United Nations and UNESCO. Urge your representative to vote "yes" on the Paul amendments to H.R. 4754 by going to http://capwiz.com/liberty/issues/alert/?al...6094526&type=CO

Do this now, so that your personal message to your elected representative arrives to double the impact of Congressman Paul's
own letters urging his colleagues to say "no" to the UN and UNESCO.

July 7, 2004

At 7:42 p.m. tonight,

the U.S. House approved,

to twist arms and build opposition.

A recorded vote will likely take place around 9:30 p.m. tonight.

We must act fast to keep our victory.

Please urge your represe

We won on VOICE VOTE !

4

July 8, 2004

It's hard work, sometimes daunting, to build a "freedom bloc" in the U.S. House of Representatives. We know all the setbacks and how the system works against us, so it is truly uplifting when we earn an unexpected victory.

Such a boost to moral came yesterday when our efforts produced a victory in the voice vote on Congressman Ron Paul's amendment to stop United States' funding of UNESCO. Thanks to thousands of Liberty Committee activists contacting their U.S. representatives, we had more of our "warriors" on the floor of the U.S. House -- ready to vote to get out of UNESCO -- than did our op
onents.

When the vote occurred, we could actually hear the voice of Liberty Caucus member Tom Tancredo rising

above all others
to lead the way!</span>

Our ability to rally the faithful is just one example of the power of working together. For once, t
he system worked in our favor, and we will take that victory as a sign of things to come as we continue to build and fight for liberty.

The losing side in a voice vote has the right to call for a second vote -- a recorded vote -- and did so on the UNESCO question. By the time of the recorded vote hours later that night, the internationalist forces had rounded up enough cohorts to defeat Congressman Paul's amendment. But every Liberty Caucus member held firm and voted in favor of the Paul amendment.

What's more, when Dr. Paul's amendment that would stop the United States' funding of the
United Nations came up,
we won more votes in favor of getting the U.S. out of the U.N. than ever before.

We are still not str
ong
enough to carry the day;

the final tally was 83 ayes, to 335 noes --
but that is a 12% increase over the last such vote.

<span style=\'color:red\'> Congressmen John Shadegg and Pat Toomey were the only Liberty Caucus members to break ranks and vote against A
merica's independence from the United Nations.

Of course we have work to do, but we are in this for the long haul. You make our victories possible. Along the way, it is important to look at the tangible results our strategy and combined efforts produce, take heart, and prepare to fight another day.

Thank you for your efforts! For detailed vote tallies on the two Paul amendments, click the links below.

Mr. Speaker, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Our allegiances to our allies and friends change constantly. For a decade, exiled Iraqi Ahmed Chalabi was our chosen leader-to-be in a new Iraq. Championed by Pentagon neocons and objected to by the State Department, Mr. Chalabi received more than 100 million U.S. taxpayer dollars as our man designated to be leader of a new Iraqi government.

PRESS RELEASES

July 22, 2004: House Votes to Protect State Marriage Laws

The definition of marriage- a union between a man and a woman-
can be found in any dictionary.

It's sad that we need government to define an institution
that has existed for centuries.

The best approach to complex social problems, as always,
is to follow the Constitution.

This means Congress should restrict federal court jurisdiction
when necessary,

and social matters should be left up to states

Write in Ron Paul for President!

and other possible dreams

David Bond
Jul 27, 2004

Wallace, Idaho -

What is wrong with this lard-assed former Republic of ours that out of 435 Congressional districts we can manage to elect only one Ron Paul?

One in 435?

The only longer shot than that are the odds that U.S. troops will be out of Baghdad in time for Christmas 2010.

If you're reading this website you most likely kno
who

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is.

On the off-chance this is a first visit,

or you'd enjoy a refresher course on the only sane and honest man

in the U.S. House Chamber of Ho

rrors

(there's a word that closely rhymes with "horrors" which also capably applies),

you can read the extensive biography and bibliog
raphy of Dr. Paul here.

Ron Paul is for our purposes an unflinching hard-money guy

whose relentless, one-man crusade (one in 435!)

against the Federal Reserve Bank is legendary.

He is a Silver Guy.

He is a Gold Guy.

He is one of us.

But he squanders his talents and his efforts in the Chamber of Horrors.

He is outnumbered, hopelessly awash in the putrid sea of fear,

lust, stupidity and greed we call the United Snakes Congress.

However, he could sure do some good as President.

So let's write him in.

A quiet, no-cost, word-of-mouth guerilla campaig
n

to seize the White House from the vipers,

lizards, charlatans and thieves who either seek to occupy it

or occupy it now.

No campaign HQ, no budget, no FEC,

no f
awning Dan Rather interviews.

No billboards, no stinking TV ads,

no photo-op debates ad nauseum.

Face it, folks.
The world will not become a better place if Teresa Heinz Foundation

(a/k/a Tides Foundation, Sierr
a Club, Mineral Policy Center,
Greenpeace, ELF, etc.)

and her running mate, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America,

become dictator and co-dictator.

It will not become a worse place if Haliburton,
Arab-American Oil Company (Aramco)
and Skull & Bones are usurped.

Nothing will change except the manner and nature of our doom.

No different than lipstick on a pig.

But a Ron Paul presidency could and would change things -

and vastly for the better.

Alan Brownspan and his central-bank cir
cle of connivers and crooks

will flee so fast the hounds can't catch 'em, like scalded cats,

the minute Paul takes the Oath of Office.

And with silver and gol
d back i
n our money -

as commanded by the Constitution - we would get our Republic back.

So just tell a friend, and write-in Ron Paul for President on November 2.

No need to be noisy about it; no need to sign one of those interminable

"Draft Ron Paul" internet petitions.

Just do it.

F
ive percent of Americans (that means you and me)

invest in precious metals.

Quietly persuade just 10 of your non-investing associates,

and we will have ourselves a majority.

A bloodless coup will be accomplished

and a century of central bank slavery will be wiped from our lives.

And silver, gold and integrity will return

to their rightful command of America's money.

Now, on to other possible dreams.

Silver (and Silver Valley) bulls that we are,
it would still have been difficult two years ago to imagine
the likes of what we have seen over the past 12 months.
Sterling
Mining'
s (SRLM) acquisition of the Sunshine Mine
here turned out to be merely the starting-point of what now
appears to be a long (second century long?)
boom in this silver camp.

There's a Silver Rush on at the Shoshone County courthouse;
more than 200 mining claims were filed there in a single day recently,
with no let-up in sight!

Sterling continues to consolidate
its land holdings around
the Sunshine, most recently with its lease of Merger Mines'
(MERG) acres of patented silver ground between the Con-Sil
(also Sterling) and the Coeur silver mines.
A little further away, New Jersey (NJMC) has struck real gold
at the Golden Chest Mine in Murray.

Real estate values up and down the Silver Valley
are on a sharp rise, yet still pennies on the dollar<
br> compared to the bourgeoisie ghettos of the coasts.

We would not two years ago have taken your wager
that no less a bright guy than Al Korelin
of the Korel
in Economics Rep
ort would,
on a national radio and web broadcast
(http://kereport.com) liken our little Silver Valley
to the pre-computer boom Silicon Valley of 20 years ago,
only without the already-high prices.

But then again, why not?
Here we sit, on a 2-billion-ounce reef of silver,
catch cuts with an Addams fly out the backyard,
bag an elk up the hillside,
gaze at more varieties of butterflies than any o
ther state,
inhale the oxygen from a million larch,
cedar and doug fir, watch the tamarack flash orange
at the approach of fall, and when we really must tear ourselves
away from those distractions, light up the cell-phone
and plug in the broadband,
or book a flight with Air Wallace and go see a play on
Broadway four hours away.

Amazing, all this beauty perched
atop such a mound
of underground silver wealth.
The geology of this camp is like virtually no other -
hence its longevity and its future promise.
Nat
ure salted out verti
cal Precambrian faults with so much silver
that we've surpassed Potosi and Comstock combined
in our first 120 years - 1.1 billion ounces! -
and there's not a geologist conversant with this district
who doesn't believe another 1 billion ounces of silver remain
in the so-called Silver Belt,
accessible from the existing workings of the Bunker Hill,
Crescent, Sunshine-Con-Sil (SRLM), Coeur, Galena,
Caladay (all CDE), and Lucky Friday
(HL) mines.

Not to mention enough lead, zinc and copper to take some
of the pressure off the Asia-driven market for industrial metals,
all the while providing enough silver for
President Paul's Treasury Department's coins.

SNIP a few paragraphs of mining stock discourse.

The Silver Valley will be a good place f
rom which to watch
the Democrat and Republican National Inventions.

One feels a little safer and a little saner viewing
them from afar, sittin
g here secure atop our h
eap
of money-rocks, as the elk fatten up on their browse.
